You would think Latu becomes a far superior player to Volkman if he lives up to his potential, but it would be nice to have someone such as Volkman on our books who has proven himself to be a more than capable NRL halve over the past 12 or so months.
Who’s to say a Volkman and Latu halves combination could not work well?
It depends on whether Doueihi is willing to give playing 13 a red hot crack. If he is it would open up another halves position.

Makes you wonder how much they're going to pay him to keep Sam around, what a dilemma.

We can’t carry both Volkman and Madden as the backup 7 in my view … all things being equal I would prefer Volkman , but I doubt he would play for $50k which is what Madden costs us with the Broncos paying the rest …
If AD moves on which I think could be a chance … might he a different story

No I’ve always rated him as someone who is not afraid to run a good line at speed and is a genuine line breaking threat because of it.
Melbourne have used him as a starting centre at times, so that makes him very valuable as a utility off the bench.
With rumours that Melbourne were looking to offload him he would be a very good fit for us, but with his agent being Isaac Moses, it’s very unlikely he will be willing to sign with us.
What if AD moves to 13 on a regular basis, that would mean we need 4 halves and having Volkman, Latu, Madden and Andrews all competing for the 2 NRL starting spots wouldn’t be a bad thing.
His mother did warn us! And mothers are always right, just ask them.

AD is the big question and I dont think we will get answer to to whether he wants to stay and play somewhere else in team until end of season. Im more thinking he will leave and go elsewhere, he just doesnt fit into our plans for the halves and he has already demonstrated an unwillingness to try another position with us.
