Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You would think Latu becomes a far superior player to Volkman if he lives up to his potential, but it would be nice to have someone such as Volkman on our books who has proven himself to be a more than capable NRL halve over the past 12 or so months.
Who’s to say a Volkman and Latu halves combination could not work well?
It depends on whether Doueihi is willing to give playing 13 a red hot crack. If he is it would open up another halves position.
Douhi is dodgy in many aspects at 7...first issue is if he wants to stick around.Am sensing an off season dummy spit..parting of the ways
Either way,we know Latu's resilience definitely cant be relied upon..
....we also know Madden isnt NRL standard..
so Volkman is a bit of a no brainer tbh.Played well for Eels...and is better than a half committed Luai !!!

He went down on one knee after heavy contact in à tackle, played in but I don’t think he’s been 100% since he came back from the Cronulla injury. Obviously been heavily strapped but just hasn’t looked the same.
As much as he is a ball-hog, he has scored some remarkable solo-effort tries. He was never a ball-playing half and if he is to stay with us, Benji needs to sit him in front of a Telly and play the ball-hog reel back to him on loop during his entire recovery program.

Bloody Bula, how frustrating he is. He definitely is very fast. When Weekes got away against Canberra I said to my mate "Bula will catch him easy" and he did. Missed the tackle, but pace wise he is very fast. Then last week he gets on the outside of Suli about 5 times and Suli gets him every time. Maybe his initial excelleration is poor and thats why he looks like he could break through but never does.
his top speed is great, like in his try at leichhardt vs cows but he is SUPER slow off the mark and for the first 10-15m, hence why he makes no breaks as hes not at full speed yet. Walsh is the opposite hes so slow over 100 but lightning over 20m so he makes way more breaks

Fancy that, à Balmain clique !
And AD and Sukkar are Lebs !
What other sinister things can we uncover !
🤣🤣🤣
They share a common denominator in that they originated from the Balmain juniors. It explains that they are close, but their ethnicity is hardly relevant. I don't attach a negative connotation to it unlike the poster who made the original comment.

interesting narrative on a few media outlets still supporting benji with "there is no one else"

instant improvements
- brad arthur
- ben teo
- michael dobson
- Joe O’Callaghan
- sam burgess
- matt ballin

two hills ill die on (i know i have had a few bum leads)

- samuela is done
- benji will be gone by round 8 at the latest
No offence but that's a deadly-thin list, almost a gulf after the name Brad Arthur.

Just for laughs I'd like us to sign Matt Ballin again and then he never actually gets around to coaching a single match for reasons.

Finals just 5/11 seasons plus a wooden spoon. Hardly inspiring but looks great to a WT fan.

I think you are missing some context to both that situation and also what knowledge that experience has given him.

Firstly, he made the finals 5 out of 6 season during one period of his Parramatta tenure. Obviously a slow start and some rocky times, but he took over a team that had been sliding badly down the ladder for years and eventually got the Wooden spoon the year before he took over. That sort of experience is relative to us, and I cant think of anyone who has gone through a similar situation and been able to learn so much from doing so. He worked through the blueprint, knows what worked, what didnt. I cant think of any coach out there who could provide that sort of resume that is required to pull this dump out of the doldrums. He is the only available coach who has previously achieved what we are desperately seeking

No coach is successful without a good squad. You need to look at the seasons any coach was successful and look at their squads/clubs/ resources , support, and then compare that to what they are coming to before you realistically consider that trey can make an improvement.

I'm not making an argument specifically for or against Brad Arthur, just pointing out he has a less than stellar record and that's where we're at as a club.

And our previous 2 coaches to Sheens/Benji both won the comp after leaving us.
