A true champion i was lucky enough to see him fight at the Hordan pavilion and he knocked a guy out by the name of Aguillar , he fought against the best middleweights in the world , back then you couldn’t fight the milkman and have a world title , RIP Tony

That ref should’ve stopped that, but it looked like he was going to help him up to keep fighting. He’s lucky Tony could have really hurt him.
Before my time really but when Anthony was “the man” Nana BF used to say and his father was a gentleman.

I saw him kick off a game at Lidcombe Oval one day ,at the height of his boxing prowess.
He obviously loved rugby league as well.

Very humble man, did not judge took a lot of people on face value.

He came down and did a trail for Souths and just started boxing to keep fit I think it was in Newtown the gym and he was a naturally talented boxer

Very capable fighter. Had weight issues and susceptible to getting knocked out, but he could really fight.

Back in 1990 I went to a LIVE music venue in Camperdown to see some Bands play.
It was a very popular list of Bands and their was a queue to get in.
Luckily the queue moved at a good pace.
As I got closer to the venue's door I saw the security doorman.
I thought, very loudly in my head "That's TONY MUNDINE!!!"
When I got to the front of the queue I said something like "G'day Tony, how are ya?"
He said "Good thanks mate"
We shook hands and I walked inside.
I was in shock and in awe of what had just happened.
I could tell in those short moments that Tony was very pleased to be recognised.
To me, the doorman was one of the greatest Boxers of all time.
To everyone else he was just the doorman.
My condolences go to Anthony, his family and friends.
