Your team vs Penrith - our GF

ironically wests tigers played penrith in the last round of the 2005 season- we led 16-0 early but Penrith ran past us in the rest of the game.
could history repeat but the opposite way.

Was looking for the teams list thread on here, but can’t seem to find it. I just checked the NRL site. Geez you think Penrith would at least rest a few players, I can’t believe they’ve named a full strength team! I’m sure they can beat us with half their team missing.

It’s hard to fathom the loyalty Benji shows this bloke. Unbelievable really!
I believe it is respect for what he has achieved in the game with the Penrith premiership winning team. At this late stage, there is nothing to be gained from further souring the relationship. It is important for the club to be seen as a fair employer and professional. The club can part ways knowing it has fulfilled its contract and obligations to Luai.

Yep I took my husband for Father's Day, he's a Panthers supporter. For some reason I am hopeful this weekend.

Ivan would have to be considering resting players given what happened to the Roosters this weekend. Depends on how badly they want the minor premiership and that will depend on what the Warriors do against Manly on Sat.
If Manly beat the Wahs, Penrith do not have to win, depending on points scored against the Wahs. He will probably rest a few players in that case.

I'd say the fact Benji was his idol, has a lot to do with it.

Coming 2nd will cost the club $200k cash…no way Ivan is resting players

I don't think the minor premiership money really matters to the Panthers, they are well funded through the Panthers club group. Plus Ivan would want to win the big dance and reinforce his legacy, I don't think he cares about the MP.

From what I've read, the premiership prize has rised to $800k. That's a quite a few shekels to go begging.

No one cares who came first in the regular season, it's not the Premier League.

We’ll get lapped. By 30 or 40 is my guess. But a lot of it will centre around the Warriors result. It’s almost like a 20/20 game. The Wahs play first, and assuming they win, will set a target for the Panthers to chase. If it’s 20 or more, then the Panthers will have the foot on the accelerator.

If he doesn’t care about the minor premiership then why has he named his strongest team?

I hadn't seen their team yet, that's what I get for commenting on a post on the first page of a thread.

I never said that the they didn't want the minor premiership, I said that the money is of little value to a team like Penrith since they are well funded, and that Ivan is probably more focused on winning the GF than the MP, as five GF wins in six years would place in the pantheon of great coaches if he's not already in the conversation.
