LIVE GAME Round 27 v Panthers

Live Game Discussion
@ROZELLE.O.G do you think Mikey Nasser could take the fullback spot from Bula in 2028? Presuming the rumours are true that he is coming back.
Hi Wiz, I don't think he will take any players spot initially he is still only 19 years old, he has the potential to as he prove himself in the pre season. I saw him about a month ago when played NSW Cup against Parra and he has the body type to be a threat with his speed, the try he scored where he chased another Tigers juniors kick in Conti, Mikey's speed wasn't normal, he made the fullback and winger look like they were walking. He is definitely over 6ft tall and the way the game is played now with the 6 again, speed through the ruck and middle, and being able to bust tackles, he will be a threat. I don't think any one other Bula would have his speed, with Averillo there in 2027 too we could potentially have 3 of the fastest players in the NRL all fit and well.

I wish the Tigers would put out a list of who is there in 2027, I am not sure with all the drama that happened with Douehi if Nasser ended up staying at the Dogs.

Mikey Nasser would be ideal for us imo. Let's say Attard starts the season as our primary NSW Cup fullback then Mikey can take ownership of the Jersey Flegg fullback spot early in the season and then be given reps up in Cup (fullback & wing) as his form & injuries dictate. Riley Oitmann can be his deputy in Flegg.

I must have been watching a different game, because we were terrible yesterday and very lucky not to lose by more points.

Here are the stats.

Don’t try to pretend like you can interpret stats, you’ve already shown you can’t in the Latu thread.

Not to mention that you can’t even read dates correctly. Remind us how Api is planning to sign with Perth.

Agree with most of your post V except for one damning point on Terrell, in the second half when the team played some expansive good to watch footy it came to a dead end when he had the ball.

On more than one occasion there was space out wide and the idiot just took it into the defence with his signature dumb turn his back runs and stunk the movement up.

Was he looking for glory in his milestone game, we might have scored a couple more tries if he let the ball sing.
I agree with you on that 💯
I think it is yet another example of our coach playing him for more minutes than what he can deliver at 💯 therefore he starts pacing himself with half hearted ball carries once fatigue kicks in.
I was just happy he was carrying the ball with a bit of vigour throughout the game as there was a 4-6 games patch where it was rarely if ever happening.

Chunk, do you think we improved this year with the better roster? If not, why nolt? Don't blame injuries. Every team has them.

There were signs of improvement but generally speaking no.

And I'm not saying Benji shouldn't wear some of the blame, of course he should, but it is so easy just to blame the coach for everything, there has been some 'unusual' stuff happening with the club this year.

Remember he's not going anywhere for a while, so lets get pragmatic.

Benji does have some things going for him, I think the players respect and want to go hard for him and that is a huge tick. Also, over the past couple of years I think he has handled some really tough situations very well, this must make things harder for any coach.

And as I was saying before, the technical side of the game is the 'easier' part of coaching, there are heaps of clever people who know about this stuff, that can assist him. (Maybe he needs better support). Its the overall running of the football club/team that's the hard part and he may be able the attributes to do this, although, again he could do with someone with more experience.

I also believe he has the least amount of resources of any club to support him, from players to general support staff. Think about it, no coach apart from the great Sheens has succeded here.

So overall, if your players want to play hard & respect you and doing your best with limited resources, then your halfway there, wouldn't you agree?

And jeez, he has to be learning plenty considering whats been going on.

Go away, little boy. The off-season will give you plenty of time to concentrate on your fantasies.

Fantasies? Aren’t you the one who has been claiming that Api is off to Perth because you read an article that you didn’t realise was over a year old 😂

Self-reflection isn’t one of your strong points, eh lol

Penrith peaking at the right time.
They were by far the most impressive top 8 team.in rd 27
Yeah definitely. A few weeks ago I thought they were a bit shaky losing to both the Warriors and Chooks in succession and I thought those two would go on to play the GF, but things have changed. I think during that period Penrith were taking some time to adjust playing without Yeo. They seem to have that right now, Lindsay Smith is doing a great job, and they are looking good again at just the right time.
