De Groot is a very good young player with genuine pace who can play multiple positions in the backline.

Doueihi and Bula are backs who can go the length of the field if required. We seem always keen to rid ourselves of players with genuine pace, Koroibete and JAC are but two examples. Papenhuyzen is another.

Bula would certainly struggle to go the length of the field. Over 20m he's very slow. Which makes it extremely difficult for him to break the line. Maybe with sprint training he can get there but then let offseason Fabri was talking him up... Over long distance he's got good pace but he just takes way too long to reach top speed, which is why he struggles to make breaks or be available in support when a break is made.

Attard is the only one in our squad with pure genuine speed. Bula once he hits top speed but acceleration isnt the greatest. Wonder if Attard could transition into firsts as a winger.

No need. He's a fullback and Bula is absolutely moveable. He's a winger through and through. Except he's probably too lazy be and ineffective to make 10m per hit up when working out off our line, again largely down to his complete lack of acceleration

For us Adam is exclusively a lock now. He's not a half or centre. Or back rowers or fullback.
Could see him doing ok at the Storm but he's absolutely not what we need.

I actually argue that at multiple sides the best defender is a 13

He can't defend in the halves because he's too slow, reads the play poorly and is out of position so arm grabs. In the middle he'll have more guys running at him, not around him. Which suits his tackling style.

To play 13 you need a big engine, you have to be willing to take lots of hard hit ups when other options are not available and you have to be able to defend in the middle and assist the edges. Not sure AD is blessed with all those qualities.

Watching him defend in them middle last year he defended quite well. I think he can do it physically, however i dont think he can do it mentally week in week out. He just isnt cut out for the week to week tough stuff. Thats why he has been obsessed with playing in the halves. Just rip the band and off and get rid of him.

Let Doueihi go. He's been tried at various positions without making a total success at any. Yet he had the gall to insist on playing 7 and refusing to play where the coach wanted him.

Benji should have had the guts to keep insisting Doueihi try 13, especially with Twal out. Or better, get the backing to tell Doueihi to look for another club.

But being Benji, he'll probably let Doueihi stay at 7 next year.

I did write that he and Doueihi are our two players which can go length of the field. Once he is in the clear, I cannot recall too many times when he has been brought down from behind. Like Fainu and Doueihi, he is targeted by the opposition because he is a threat with the ball (one of our few).

At 7? Maybe O'Sullivan. And/or extend Madden as backup to Latu and Andrews.

Benji and quite a few of our supporters are not getting the memo that it is no longer the 80’s and Wayne Pearce style of 13’s no longer work for the full 80mins each game in the NRL.
