Absolutely, and the answer is simple. Our club’s culture is poor, our 11 coaches in 20 years have resulted in more losses than wins, and very few elite players want to come to our club.Great in theory, but nothing stops them from leaving once they are ready for NRL.
We should be addressing why they want to leave.
Fun fact: the Tigers have had a losing record in 22 of their 27 seasons.
The reality is that HBG has dropped some major bombs that have derailed most of our seasons and totally ignored the Crawford-Barnier report. I’m surprised that Barry got his job back, although it’s clearly not making much of a difference.
You would think that when fans consistently complain, send emails, sign petitions on Change.org and even protest, it would be a sign that something is wrong and that you need to improve your governance, board and internal management.
I don’t see how a coach can build a strong team when the club is consistently front loaded and doesn’t have a forward thinking, creative board with a clear vision for the future of our club.
A fish rots from the head.
