Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Noticed a few Shark props are off contract with Braden Hamlin Uele, he would be good as a starting stint or adding punch off the bench. He is 31 so not too old and is a big body. Tuku Hua Tapua is a big unit also off contract. I think either would be good recruits allowing May and Pole to be more explosive with Hunt also on the bench rotation.

I think he's off to the UK Braden

Hey everyone,

Been in and out of the forum this year due to some medical issues, but I’m doing a lot better now. Really missed catching up with you all!

For those who still remember me, I still get the odd bit of info from time to time. Haven’t been around much lately so I’m not sure if this has already been mentioned, but I’ve got it on very good authority that all three Fainu brothers are going nowhere. They’ve given verbal commitments to friends, family and the club that they’re staying put.

This next part is more of a guess, but I reckon the negotiations are taking a bit longer once you factor Manise into the mix. The three younger brothers seem to have a really strong desire to play alongside their older brother when he’s available again or if he’s available again.

I actually posted about this around 18 months ago, that the club are looking at Manise, and that the Fainus’ management team had been working with the club to get a T&T deal done. It’s been in the works for a while not just this past 3-4 months like reports suggest.

This clearly means a lot to the boys, you can tell. I think it’s a fantastic idea imo. The extra motivation of not only playing alongside three brothers (including one who’s been locked away), but also chasing the shared dream of a premiership and helping revive Manase’s career and journey in doing so, is huge. It’s giving Latu and Samuela in particular that extra drive to reach their full potential and scratch their scary ceiling.

Will it happen or won’t it happen we’ll see, but regardless both Sameula and Latu are staying put 100%.
Welcome back.
I think the age thing is catching up with most of us older supporters.
Hope that things improve for you and your insight and information is always welcome on here.

Cowboys would probably want someone in return. Especially since Dearden just inked an extension, and if there are no specific clauses, this would have to be a compassionate release, buy-out and most likely a player swap.

Now I'm one who thinks Doueihi should stay next year but a swap of Doueihi for Dearden could work for them to partner with Clifford in the halves. And it would be insanely good deal for us. I'd rather keep both but if that was the option then I could see it painted as a win win for both players.
Gee your gonna have to get Toddy absolutely smashed to agree to that

If the move is purely to move to Sydney which is what it sounds like that shrinks the market dramatically.

The Dragons, Bulldogs and Penrith don’t have the $ for him.

Roosters will probs get Sam Walker done so doubt they’ll enter the race.

Rabbits after looking at there list next year I doubt they any cap space, but even if they did it wouldn’t compete with $1.3 to 1.5 million offers.

And eels are no better than us.

Never say never in rugby league.
what about sharks? They could be keen to move Nicho on if he fumbles in the semis again this year

Welcome back, Teddy. You haven't missed much. Just cut and paste the last 15 years of this thread.

I will say that for sure and certain, I won't be strapping on the gear next season. Not a medical decision, although Benji did ask me if I could stay on for one more. I said no cos I have a 10000 piece jigsaw puzzle of Victoria's 500K pot holes to complete and it will take me well into the preseason before I finish it & I wouldn't want to let the team down by being unfit for purpose. I dream of Fainu to Fainu to Fainu to Fainu & he scores! That will break the Internet! Cheers 🍻🐯

I think I’m suddenly in an alternate universe… i just read the last few pages of this thread with a bunch of posters wanting Brooks back!!!
Wasn’t this the same Forum that absolutely hammered that poor guy and blamed him for just about everything that went wrong at the club for a decade??
My god I hope we aren’t going back there are we!
