5 games off the bench, Doesn't make him a middle...
I'm over this invention that Sam Fainu is a middle.

I've included his 2023 summary as well, Where he played primarily 2nd row for his junior club.
He's played the last 4 seasons (at least) in the Back Row, and is starting there for us next year.

He's one of the better back rowers in the comp - Why there's so much noise around him.
Move him, Why - Because there's nothing else 'cool' to write here?
💯 Batboy
Second row is the strongest part of our team (Sam & KPP) with API should be the first players picked each week.
Why anyone wants to change Sam’s position is beyond belief.

Whatever it is it’s bloody annoying when you’re trying to read a post properly. I don’t know who put it on, but it’s an unnecessary distraction that has no place on a a footy forum, imo.
Drives me insane as well.

I think it is @Kul who put it into the coding years ago now.

Whoever is site admin or responsible for it, can we PLEASE REMOVE THIS PEURILE TANTRUM over a person becoming president of a country we don't even live in?!

FFS.....

We need a proper lock forward. I'd be targeting the Knights. They have McEwan, Lucas and Manuleilua for 2 edge forward roles. And Matt Croker had a great season. But Manuleilua was amazing at lock for Samoa the other night. Both he and Croker are available to talk to Nov 1. Either would elevate our pack at the lock position

I'm not really calling for him to be moved now (or any time soon) but I do think his long term future is likely the front row. I also think he is a very long way off being one of the better backrowers in the comp. He might be one day. More likely in my opinion he loses half a step and transitions to the middle. We've seen plenty before him, that looked better on an edge than he ever has do it. Taumalolo, Tapine, Papalli, JFH, Barnett, Wiki, Thaiday, Mason, etc.

I wouldn't move him for 27 as he is obviously in our top 2 edge options. I just see him becoming a more successful middle then he ever will be on an edge. He already gets caught out laterally out wide (and his reads are also poor). Likely his lateral movement worsens (though reads should improve).

Thought it has been a quiet off-season on the men's team front so thought I'd do some quick research on actual announcements since our last game.

8 Sep – John Morris (Asst Coach – Defence) departs.
15 Sep – Solomone Saukuru re-signed in top 30 for 27 & 28.
15 Sep – Twal, Koroisau & Makasini win key awards at Club Gala.
25 Sep – Madden selected in PM XIII (Seyfarth later added).
2 Oct – Aho, Andrews, Filipi-Talisau & Duncombe win key awards at Senior Pathways night.
2 Oct – Kurt Mann signed to top 30 for 27.
4 Oct – Jake Averillo named MOM in State Championship Final for Dolphins.
6-7 Oct – Following players selected in RLWC squads – Koroisau, Turuva, Saukuru, Lanyon, Twal, Sukkar, Pearce-Paul, Latu Fainu & Glassie.
12 Oct – Tyson Frizell signed to top 30 for 27.

On top of this, plenty of anticipation around potential extensions for Samuela, Latu & Pole, speculation around winger/centre James Schiller being looked at by the club & who new Assistant Coach/es & Pathways Coaching Director will be.

Great work thanks 🙏
