The older you get the more you realise the truth of this,
Back in the days when women coppers were neither common or frontline (although i did know one).

Remember this well. Late 1960's and early 1970's. We would all line up in a queue as per the photo. I had a grey Commonwealth Bank deposit book. It sat inside a plastic cover with a metal push down clasp on the front. I would place my 20c on the teacher's desk and she would stamp my pass book. At the end of the year we would all receive a plastic Jumbo elephant money box and a sticker that said, 'Get with the strength... Bank Commonwealth'.
I ran this by my wife and she said she did exactly the same thing at her school. Now 55 years later we both still bank with the Commonwealth. Guess we are both either staunchly loyal or very slow learners!
My 2 favourite were
Paleface Adios & Hondo Grattin
Can’t remember when the last time I’ve placed a bet on the red hots.
2 of the very best i have ever seen race and i would add Lucky Creed to the list, when he won the Miracle Mile it was and still is the greatest effort i have ever seen on a racecourse(broke at the start and gave the others a massive lead and swamped the best horses in Aus/NZ at the finish).
