The argument for fully embracing the Macarthur as home for the Wests Tigers.

I wouldn't play Parra there, I would play the Easter Monday game at Accor. Only game I'd accept there though.

Fair enough .,, I got no issues playing the other games at Commbank

Parra is one of our biggest rivals ( probably second behind Dogs), and it really sticks in my craw that we would afford them an advantage ..

That place is soulless.
Not ideal that all the Corporate areas at CommBank are on the western side and club member sit on Eastern side.

However, I have been to a few games there and the atmosphere was excellent.

I am taking my kids to the Tonga vs Samoa game next weekend and I bet it isn’t soulless

If it’s just about getting the dollars …what’s the difference ? It’s only for one of the 4 or 5 games next year …the others will be played at Parramatta still

The deal is with Venues NSW … do they care which stadium it’s at ?

You would rather have a “home” game at Parramatta where the majority is cheering the opposition?

Yeah you're right, the Easter game would need a bigger ground than Commbank could hold, so it should be Accor.

And play the other games at Commbank.

Make the most of the possible revenue available & experience and play Parra at a neutral ground

I thought the way you were talking about it you were objecting to playing the Easter Monday game at Accor as well when it is our home game.

Unfortunately when the Easter Monday game is the home game for the Parra-sites we can't really do much about that.

If was the Premier, the Sports Minister or Tourism Minister, this would be my pitch to build a international quality stadium in the South West of Sydney that would be the new home to the Wests Tigers & more:

The huge growth including Metro rail connectivity, it's a NO BRAINER for a 30,000+ (Preferably 45,000+) state of the art retractable roof UNDERCOVER stadium to be built in the South West/MacArthur in coming years.

As it would seem almost unfeasable at Campbelltown, somewhere along one of the Metro lines to the new city of Bradfield & the Western Sydney airport would be the ideal site. It would prove to be a fantastic asset for the people of Western Sydney, the whole of NSW.

It would give the state it's first all weather stadium of that size, a huge plus when NSW competes against not only other states but other nations to host international sporting events. It would be ideal size for stadium rock/pop concerts and provide shelter if need be in case of bad weather.

Along with the stadium an entire entertainment & shopping precinct, similar to that at Moore Park & the Olympic precinct at Homebush could be established. It could possibly encompass a future Wests Tigers licensed club.
The NRL could increase its hotel portfolio by building there!

Of course the Wests Tigers would be the main tenant, with the other rectangular field sports having access on non Wests Tigers scheduled days, however the Bulldogs may even decide to take some games there.

The precinct as a whole would greatly benefit the surrounding region, which is increasingly being heavily developed with housing far out pacing places for people to unwind. Currently entertainment, clubs, restaurants, theatres, arcades etc the residents pretty much need to travel some distance on ever congested roads to enjoy.
It would bring a lot of new jobs, including entry level jobs where kids and young adults can get part time work close to home and study. With the increase in international visitors that will be coming in through Western Sydney Airport the more the demand on accommodation, hospitality, entertainment, services etc a precinct like this would keep tourists in the area rather than lose them to the crowded City and coastal suburbs.

If the Federal, state and local government could partner with the NRL and other potential private investors (Public-Private Partnership) to fund a cost-benefit analysis I'm sure it would prove to be an all round winner.

Vote #1 Daz 😆

The issue is its staunch Labor , so therefore Labor take it for granted and liberal wont chuck money and promises at it , because it’s a waste of time. Penrith got their upgrade because it’s a swing area . It’s bullshit , but the actual truth .
