LinkedIn would have been one recruitment source, not the sole one. Why are conventional forms of job recruitment embarrassing and how should it have been done, out of interest?

I would say recruiting Aaron Payne to coach NSW Cup in 2024 after a chance meeting at a chicken shop with Benji is embarrassing. But that's what happened.

At least a public recruitment campaign has some transperancy. I'm really critical of HBG and am not a fan of the large amount of ex-Tigers in admin roles with the team, however if the recruitment was entirely private it lends itself to even more accusations of 'jobs for the boys'.

Also, Ryan Carr has been an interim NRL head coach and a Superleague head coach. He would know how to coach both sides of the ball.

What was the point of Wests Tigers throwing Schuster a lifeline last season if he’s going to be dumped next season? By all accounts he was doing really well getting himself back in good shape and wanted to prove he could get back into the NRL. What went wrong, because this decision to cull him is not making sense?

Happens regularly in the lower grades - people on this forum regularly call for players to be sacked after one season all the time. Maybe he decided he doesn't want to be professional footballer.

With the amount of funding provided by the NRL, the use of Linkedin provideds transparency and accountability for the appointment to roles and expenditure of funding. We on this forum often criticise the club but this imo is a move towards greater professionalism.

He's been part of two highly rated junior development systems which augers well for WTs.

Fullback or wing prospect?

He is a fullback but can play 5/8 Wing Centre, anywhere in the backline, would love to see him progress to 13 has the size, speed and smarts to play there and he has always a been very aggressive in defence and attack.

Would love to see Conti come back, I am not sure but I think we are light in the halves for depth. If the Dogs bring in Walker where does that leave Conti with Woods also back from injury.

He can move @TigerBurnsy , he led the jersey flegg comp for metres gained and tackle breaks this year, his speed chasing Conti's kick in NSW Cup was what those two did their whole junior years.

I just can’t stop thinking about this decision to sign an attack coach as our defence coach.

There are two states worth of cup teams running around. Surely there is a defensive oriented coach amongst one of them whose performance demands an opportunity?

Sorry to make something sound binary that’s not binary but…

Is our workplace brand truly so bad that we can’t attract anyone with runs on the board?

Or

Is this some kind of naive arrogance that we can see untapped, unproven defensive coaching ability?
