It's time to take the fight back to HBG

Richo handled it horribly, he could have told Benji to slyly drop him to Reggie’s and keep him for his contract or bargain him for a player swap or big transfer etc, instead he let him go years early for like 100k to one of our biggest rivals
Wasn't there a non disclosure as part of the transfer? Bullying and legal implications attached. Not as simple as dropping him to cup

Yes very true.

Lucky for Dennis, being Chairman of HBG means he can still direct his troops on the WT board.

I’m still perplexed how Dennis didn’t face disciplinary action from HBG over his Instagram account bringing HBG into disrepute. Surely a breach of code of conduct at the time much like what some fellow board members had to face at the time.
Watch him slide into Paton's spot on the WT Board.

He cannot hide that he is the direct issue. About time NRL did something about it

Lets.not.forget theres quite a few new consortiums bidding for the NRLs 20th team...I think Ipswich or around there...another NZ mob...and.another i think also qld

While i want .HB gone as.much as the next bloke im a bit worried the nrl may finally flick us if they have to step. In
it wouldnt be hard for nrl to give Briabane East's the tigers emblem... and divide the Southwest
would be a bad result for us

Thank you for posting.

There’s a few things that stand out to me from a process standpoint that just seem off.

Bear in mind I hate Daniel Paton so this isn’t because I think he’s a good bloke or anything.

If there’s an allegation even if the complainant is anonymous the board cannot vote on the matter if they don’t know what they are voting on. All board members should have abstained from voting in this instance and it shows a lack of transparency and fairness in the complaints handling process.

Similarly in most instances Paton should be made aware of the nature of the complaint and be given an opportunity to respond. The only exceptions to this would be Lear and severe breaches of the code of conduct or some instance of corruption neither of which would involve the complete withholding of information to other board members.
Said the same thing to a mate -
I don’t know if I’m more shocked that they had a board meeting to sack a bloke without telling anyone on the board why he was getting sacked,
Or that only 2 board members said they didn’t want to vote without knowing the reason for the sacking…

What did the other board members decide? “Yeah, no worries mate - whatever you think”

These people are running our football club.

All I can really suggest is now is the time all Wests Tigers fans should join HBG.

If you have already been a member for 3 years apply for general membership.
Great idea if you’re chasing discounted garlic bread, but I hope you’re not suggesting this as the fix for our governance, Wests Tigers can't afford years of waiting for member voting power.

And i think it’s about time someone put some actual sense into this discussion.

Everyone on here keeps blathering on about 'taking the fight back to HBG,' but half of you are talking about literally everything except an actual fight. And seriously, what would that 'fight' even be anyway?

Demanding that a closed-shop, debenture-held leagues group voluntarily hand over power to a bunch of forum posters is a bit like flying to Beijing, knocking on the door, and demanding China change their entire governance model to be more transparent.

It makes for great theatre, real change in this structure will only come by force, not by waiting years for member voting rollout.

It wont be demanding anything or asking forna voluntary handover.
It will be through a legitimate vote.

This is the only real plausible thing ive seen, i suggested this light-heartedly a couple of years back, @Jolls has also suggested it.
Three years towards a targeted proactive approach or 3 more years waffling on here about Burgess' hair?

You have to be kidding! Why should we support a debenture system that makes no sense, follow a club that focuses on ruining lives through gambling, and put up with a club who continues to create drama to the detriment of players and fans? The least income we give them, the better.
