Wests Tigers Home Ground Mega Thread

Interesting article -

I'm pretty sure everyone has an opinion on Benny, but I'm surprised Roach or some of the other club legends are being ignored. I'm looking forward to seeing the final report on the WT's and HBG.
Richo should set up an annual club legends day or something where players are honoured at a big game. Having said that, it’s low on his list of things needing fixing.

It would be a great idea to get legends from both of our foundation clubs plus some WT players from 2 decades ago to an honour parade in the future at both of our home stadiums and make it an annual event. It would promote both unity and honour our past

If LO isn’t available or deemed not to be up to scratch we play All our home games at Campbelltown.
if it is I think we play a token number of games there and the rest at CT.
nrl and WT should (if they can) purchase the club there as well.

I doubt Campbelltown is going to pay them to play there … Richo is saying that it’s all about the bottom line

I wouldn’t be surprised if all the games are at Homebush or Parra next year…

Campbelltown don’t even pay them now to play there from what I’ve heard. No money currently comes out from the south west for the club if true. That’s why I think it’s a good chance all our home games are at Accor next year.

yeah … it’s looking that way…

I’m not a massive fan of Accor … but the Club has got to aspire to getting the average crowd size up to 25k … and that won’t happen at LO or Cambo … Also … if you are a member then GA shouldn’t cost more than $20 a game at Accor … the prices this year are a joke at LO..

I would keep Cambo for 2-3 games a year … but have these for Thursday night and Friday 6pm games when they won’t get 8k turning up to Accor at that time

Richo has given no indication that the club is going to take games away from Ctown. If anything, he’s doubled down. He has stated his main issue with LO is the outdated ammenities and safety. Something he said isn’t an issue at Cambo.

One bloke that constantly bags us in the media, and the other totally destroyed Balmain Leagues and wanted us to go to Perth... & they wonder why they arent offered box seats at games... Please

Self-entitled. Should take a leaf out of Junior’s book. Always has been dignified, unlike these two trying desperately to cling onto relevance.

Speaking of junior, is there a reason he retired at 30. Seems super young for a guy as fit as he was.

Broken.... He was busted.
Bloke is about the same size as a modern day half back.

He's also quite a bit smarter than your average 80's footballer....
(Smart enough to do something more productive with his time and what was left of his body)

A little off topic but I just purchased 3 tickets for Wests v Parra. I admit I haven't been to an NRL game for a while but it cost $300 for the tickets and they're not the best in the house. I was quite shocked and wonder how a Mum, Dad and two kids could afford to go to a game, particularly in the current climate.
Am I just out of touch?

I just paid 235 for GA Pearl Jam tickets. Just like groceries, fuel and everything else, it’s price gouging to the extreme.

He has said in respect of where they play games, that he is going to do what’s best for the bottom line ..

Cambo has similar issues with lack of corporate facilities as LO… and they don’t make money playing there

Saw that....
I remember Bouncing Benny was all over the place when he was trying to get signatures at the games to help him make a fortune out of the Leagues Club he stole....

I see where they're at (Very minimally)
- But there's an old boys day every year at WT's, They're never there....
It's always the older blokes before them (Garry Leo, Old Magpies boys are some of the guys I've seen at them)
I very much doubt any Balmain life member needs an 'invitation' to a game at Leichhardt...
There's even a bunch of old warhorses (Hardwick, Edmed) on the hill most home games!!

I've wondered for the last decade or more, When is it going to be about the Wests Tigers old boys....
From 2024 is the answer.

I gave more than my fair share for a company I worked at for 15 years too....
Haven't been invited to a Christmas Party since the day I left....
- AND, It's the same Business - Owned by the same people....

These Old Blokes need to let go, This isn't Wests or Balmain...
They have a time and place, They've also had their time and place...

The Magpies do a heritage night every year, The Bears have an old boys day (Lead by Florimo), I'm sure the Jets do also, I imagine Illawarra not far behind...

I've been to Balmain functions instigated by the WT's in the past, So them saying it doesn't happen is absolute rubbish....
But here's an idea - If those blokes wanna catch up with their old team mates, get your mouth out of the microphone you're getting paid to whine into and organise it...

Ticket Prices set for that by Parra this year...
Reckon we gouged them last year (Although not as bad)
Might be a bit of payback...

Best to find a Parra member and get him to buy them for you....
Or buy them off facebook / gumtree or some such if you can.
Always people who can't get to pre-planned games.
