LIVE GAME Round 6 vs. Dragons

Live Game Discussion
Im Autistic. I have no friends. Im okay with that. I believe in myself. And I believe in all you guys. Every single one of you. I guess, you guys help me to be me....and I hope I can help.you guys to be you
I reckon it's great that you felt secure enough on here to tell us you are autistic @AmericanHistoryX

I think you will find a big % of people on here would also feel great if you felt they were your friends as well, because a big % of people on here including me, I'm sure would already consider you to be their friend.

I really enjoy reading your posts AHX because you have a good sense of humor, you are supportive and encouraging of most posters, and you are never rude to anyone, so keep on posting whenever you feel comfortable doing that.

A real step backwards today. We lacked cohesion and leadership. Our forwards were mostly dominated by a bigger and more aggressive pack and that made it hard for anything to work in attack. Lack of discipline and ball control, poor completions, poor skills and some weak attempts in contact allowing way too many offloads leading to tries. Lomax single handedly lead the way with his desire to compete.
Api was disappointing today as was Paps who doesn’t look fit enough. Sullivan was very poor and Faataape underwhelming.
Most of our pack did not display the same effort and aggression as they have previously. Olam also was a little off at times.
We pass the ball like under 7s at times. How many penalties did we give them in their 20 to allow them a leg up.

This is true. No one on the roster is close to either Bateman or Papalli on the edges.
Are we not watching any other NRL games played each weekend ?
Over 50% of each teams line breaks and tries have a major contribution from their teams edge forwards.
Our edge forwards are a major part of our problem in why we look so one dimensional in attack.
Kepaoa for all his deficiencies at least has the size and speed to worry the opposing defence on our left edge.
Bateman to right edge and Papali’i to 13.

Lol @ us waiting to have an 18 year old back to save us.

And maybe I'm just done with Bateman, but I thought Seyfarth was a whole lot more effective.

Not much to add that hasn't been said - Faatape defintely needs a spell. I want to see Naden given a first grade run again.
Imo Seyfarth was one of the best today and in fact probably the most improved this year in our team.

Most disappointing part of todays 'performance' was the dumb and/or lazy play from our experienced players. Cheap penalties by Api and Papallii. Olam failing to get behind the 20m when Bula looking for a quick tap or trying to put on shots when he should have been holding his place in the line. Sezer taking low percentage options before any scoreboard/clock pressure.

Watch the replay of Manly vs Warriors or Raiders vs Titans instead.

I'll let you know the next time the Tigers have a good win so you can watch the replay, but that might not be for a while.
Thanks mate, easier to stay optimistic if I’m oblivious. Getting 2004 vibes, getting better but not there yet, mostly about youngsters coming through like Galvin and Bula instead of Marshall and Farah. Unfortunately next year isn’t giving me premiership vibes just yet haha.

This is the most pathetic [This word has been automatically removed]ing bullshit I’ve ever seen. Do you not know how to wrap the bloody ball? Three in the bloody tackle and still gets an offload, mate this is a honest joke.
Same with there second try to Bird. A late offload that never should have happened.
Pole switched off, A basic technique that for some reason some of our players forget about.

I think our squad is not as mid as some claim.
It's rough around the edges.
With some more tweaks, I think we'll see massive improvement.

- Luai x Galvin will be a very electric pairing.
- Olam x AD centre pairing will be solid, AD playing inside Staines should hopefully unlock Charlie's ability.
- a good finisher winger to replace Tupou, Valemei or Turuva would be ideal.
- a new first string backrower who runs good lines, Sua or like.
- Papalii to bench, impact prop, think this would be his ideal posi.
The sooner we move Papalii to the middle rotation the better, I’ve said numerous times even he doesn’t think edge forward is his position.

Read my comment no one is close to Bateman or Papalli on an edge on this roster. Kepoa and Seyfarth are bench players. Until they sign or bring in a better option the roster is the roster.

slow and insipid from minute 1. torn to shreds by a bang average team who benefitted from our inability to build pressure. not once did we get in the grind as we were constantly making errors or giving away penalties.

there were a number of individual performers people are going to point fingers at but the collective attitude of the team wasn’t good enough. our attack is so sideways and pedestrian that we are all waiting anxiously for an 18 year old to come back and straighten us up. that is a major concern.

defensively there was always going to be issues given there were injuries and therefore less cohesion but some of the first up contact from what I could see at the game was diabolical. that once again comes down to intent.

we always get up to play Penrith but I am so disappointed we predictably didn’t come to the table on a pivotal day for the club. next Saturday can’t come quick enough.

Oh Demps...
Your enthusasm is fantastic, I wish I had supporters like you at my workplace.

Lets break this down:
- Luai x Galvin will be a very electric pairing.
They play a similar style to each other. I can't see that working too well unless luai changes a lot. Look we have to try it but it's Ground Zero with those two. WE don't know how they will play together, changes may be needed.
- Olam x AD centre pairing will be solid, AD playing inside Staines should hopefully unlock Charlie's ability.
Staines needs someone to give him good ball and get him going. AD is not it and needs to journey to Super league. AD never wanted to play center here and is weak in defense. Stop trying to find a spot for AD.
- a good finisher winger to replace Tupou, Valemei or Turuva would be ideal.
100% but not just yet. I hope we get a "OK" replacement for 2025 then 2026 we sign a boom winger. Taniela Tuiaki was awesome, but his talent hid a lot of deficits in our team. Likewise Koroibete, etc. We need to get the team right first and playing in a structure. Otherwise a boom winger will hide our deficits.
- a new first string backrower who runs good lines, Sua or like.
The more I think about the WT, the more I realise our season depends on the front row.
When we had Taupau + Blair we did ok.
When we had Todd Payten, Chris H, Keith G, Fulton, etc + Woods and Fifita coming up as Juniors we went to the finals.

I feel our forwards are missing that one player like a Fifita or similar.
- Papalii to bench, impact prop, think this would be his ideal posi.
Yes, Pap's has to stop going awol or being misused. He is a classy enough player that it's better to play him in the right position and let others adapt. We may just have to swap him.... I hate to say it but a trade back with Parramatta may suit both us and Parra.

The sooner we move Papalii to the middle rotation the better, I’ve said numerous times even he doesn’t think edge forward is his position.
Papali made his name with line running in the red zone on attack , not in our own quarter blunting the back line by continuing to turn back inside to the defence and disrupting our backline
