OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Been out all day, too busy. Yet have time to go back and forth on a forum. Righto 😅
Easier posting thoughts then to go find the exact minute of a 30 min program.
Are you emo by any chance?

Feel free to watch the following it could have been this

100%. Well said.
The vast majority of our fans refused outright to see it. They consistently made excuses for him. Ironically they are the same ones who are his loudest critics now….
Our offer was ridiculous. Richo got lucky that he rejected it because under our management he would just remain doing whatever he wanted and would not have grown into his potential.
U have to wonder why the dogs are forcing him into the side. No one would have blinked if he was playing NSW cup for a couple of weeks to "learn their systems" we played him in firsts out of desperation and a lack of success. I would argue the dogs leadership and coaching staff are more incompetent than us by forcing him into a team that was dominating the comp. They may actually break him mentally and cause some long term damage. Or could they be contractually obligated to play him in firsts, in the halves?

LG has very high effort and energy which is a positive. I think Luai even commented he was about the fittest player he had played with. But that effort and commitment does not make up for some short comings in his game.
For mine, he is simply not quick enough to be a half and is a limited threat when running. He also lacks the required kicking game. Furthermore, he plays what he sees and doesn’t seem to be able effectively guide a team around the park and play to a structure. This both confuses his team mates and leads to low percentage plays that invariably don’t work.
I see him be a forward in future years but not sure where. I don’t think 13 suits him as he wants to be creative but he probably lacks the strike of a top line back rower.
He needs to transition from school boy super star to a regular first grader for a few years and develop his game.
Agree... for me he is a mirrors the pathway of Bryce Cartwright / Josh Schuster bursting onto the scene and then eventually grew into their bodies, Never found that form again in the second row.

I'll point out that before the news of Galvin going to Bulldogs, Doggies were 9W 1L, and since that news they are 2W 3L including an arse-kicking by Dolphins and a late capitulation to Broncos.

And prior to Galvin announcing he'd leave Tigers, we were 3W 3L; since then we've gone 2W 7L.

Obviously there are multiple factors but there can be no argument that the departure of Galvin coincided of a crash in what had been reasonable Tigers club form, and his arrival at Bulldogs has derailed their form.

Which is of course to be expected, a young half with high pressure and limited experience - you take him out of the side where he trained all offseason and played last year, there's probably not an immediate fix. And then when he is thrust into a roster that leads to the departure of their starting half and hooker, plus shifting their 5/8th to centres, it's not going to be ideal unless they are a long-term proven professional. It will inevitably cause disharmony.

But also, Galvin is a destabilising twat.
All the lead up paragraphs were an interesting read but you could have just summarised the whole lot with just the last sentence.

its out there... It came out of lachlans mouth... But I am happy for you to pass it off as nonsense and we can both go on our way with different thoughts on the matter. All the best
I do recall him saying this, I.e. that he may end up in the forwards, however wants to delay it as much as possible. Then the statement he made about going somewhere to "develop as a half" when he left. There was also talk in the media of him being a future 13. I actually think all that commentary about the club asking him to put on weight in the off-season was a move in that direction, he came back the same weight and joked about eating Macca's.

when did it becomes a requirement to post a quote, video or article to support every comment made? I said where I think he said it.. so go have a look and prove me wrong then..
I cant remember a video but i did see an article where he said it was suggested that he would move in to playing lock in the future but for the moment he was happy to keep playing at no 6 for as long as possible.

What a stupid post. "The vast majority"....like you were the only one.
And how do you know anything about Richo's deal. I reckon he knew Galvin was no good and staged the offer to get rid of him without being the one to break a contract and make Galvin/Moses look like the bad guy. Mission accomplished,
He knew what was coming, what did you know?
I'll answer that. Nothing.
I nearly was the only one. For months I was attacked for saying the same stuff everyone says now.
He didn’t know shit. He worked “for weeks” on a deal that was never going to be considered.

In an interview earlier this season Lachlan said that ppl at the club had been talking about moving him into the forwards and that he was trying to delay that as long as possible..

Given this context, to claim that his well prepared media statement calling out his development as a half "doesn't mean anything", just means you are ignoring the facts being presented to you.
I recall this. I think it was actually in one of the pre game media videos

Don’t believe the narrative his camp used re bullying - it was as clear as day that was an intentional Moses (he uses that often) ploy to ensure Galvin was gone within weeks.
100%, according to Adel Hage, Richo wanted to go to court and fight it but the board said no. Also said someone at the club told him, it was Holman Barnes Group that demanded that Galvin be put back into first grade after Benji dropped him.

He wasn't as bad as people are saying last night.

Weird game. Dogs could've been up by more and then totally switched off in the last 15 along with a Mam masterclass.
Oh yes he was. I was gobsmacked at just how bad he was. Every time the Dogs got on a roll he'd kill the momentum with a hospital pass. Reminded me of Benji when he was playing badly before moving to Souffs. The coupe de grace was a dud pass resulting in a spilled ball that the Broncos picked up and scored the try that got them going.

If there were player ratings, he would have scored the lowest on field, maybe a 3.

I noticed that also - multiple Broncos players were gushing over him after the game.
Yeah I noticed to that too. Probably knew that he was going to cop it with fans and the press who turn like cut snakes.
Players get paid well but they also cop plenty on social media and with the press these days and no young player has been first and foremost in the press than him. Id say they were just saying don't listen to the noise.
Re - Ricky press conference last night in regard Kyle Flanbagan

A prefer to believe/hope that none of that is true just for my own sanity.

My thoughts are why would they care? Isn’t that an advantage to their own team?
