Took me 2 seasons to coach this side to a premiership on Rugby League 26

A few marquee signings but the side otherwise remained about the same

Took a fair bit to sign some Marquee players, no one wanted to come

Once we got that premiership, I resigned the whole squad on unders

Lmk if Tigers are looking for a coach

But did you release 5 players early and replace them with nobody????

i heard a pub rumour from a bloke who's been right on with his last few rumours ie: he said a certain player who's name i refuse to use was leaving us for the Dogs (tick) .. also said we would sign Terrel May (tick) .. and said we would have Taylan May on our books (tick) .. 3 from 3 will do me.

OK newest rumour is that we are in talks with the manager of Corey Harawira-Naera from the Raiders. Hasnt played in a year since he had a medical episode on-field (heart issue) .. has undergone heart surgery where they placed an ICD implant .. on May 2025 the NRL cleared his return the game .. 30 years young and ready to return .. apparently there are few clubs looking at signing him.

I can't comment on the health issues but if hes at 60% of what he was, he would be a walk up starter in our pack. CHN, Fainu, KPP is a good back row. Means we probably only have to end up playing 1 of Seyfarth/Sukkar/Bird (which is all we should be playing).

If he could get back to his form previously certainly an upgrade on seyfarth as the lock/backrow hybrid on the bench. Can’t be a top 30 though. Train and trial or development only.
 
Need to figure out why whenever we bring any decent player into our team they immediately look above the rest. As the season goes on they usually catch Wests tigeritis and come back to the pack.

I’ve seen this happen with Klemmer, Pole, Api, Terrell, Skelton, Samuela, Bula (last year) all in the space of 18 months.
 
I’ve been overseas for a month and haven’t seen a game on tv for 4 weeks and it sounds like today was a scrubby affair. But a glass half full comment. We are currently sitting in 12th after 3 spoons. We have had incremental improvement on season wins over the last 2 seasons. We have definitely recruited some better sheer talent into the squad, with another (potential) upgrade coming next year in KPP. We have an exciting junior in Makasini. Latu is a serious talent who can only get better as he plays more (where was Katoa at in his first couple of years?). Luai hasn’t hit his straps and can hopefully only get better. We have room on our roster and money to spend to add more talent.

Glass half empty: we are super inconsistent, need to improve on depth and add some missing pieces to our roster. I think our xs and ys coaching needs to improve for us to take another step.

Taking the glass half full outlook hopefully we can keep making steady improvement, continue to add good recruits, develop our young talent, and improve our coaching.

Oh, and it would be nice to see less negative media constantly surrounding us, too.

Was thinking this exact thing watching Taylan May back up off his brother on the inside after taking the previous tackle. Showed an innate ability to play what is in front of him. I wondered how long in the Tigers system that innate ability will be shot to bits. Do you think players just lose confidence? There is so much pressure placed on the players at losing clubs? coaching? All of the above maybe.
