The Dragons have officially tabled a two-year contract to Adam Doueihi.

The pressure is now on the Tigers to up their 12 month extension they offered to him (similar to the one the Tigers extended him on last year).

Dragons offer Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi two-year contract

The Wests Tigers risk losing another local junior to a rival club, with the Dragons making a play for Adam Doueihi to add some class to their roster for next season.

St George-Illawarra have made an official play for Adam Doueihi with the Wests Tigers in danger of losing another local junior.

The Dragons have tabled the Wests Tigers matchwinner a two-year contract for 2026 and 2027 as the Red-V attempt to add class to their roster next season.

Doueihi’s contract has become a matter of urgency for the Wests Tigers following the exit of promising spine members and juniors Lachlan Galvin and Tallyn Da Silva this season.

Doueihi has also proven a valuable influence in recent weeks on rookie half Latu Fainu and a genuine point of difference in the lock position with his kicking game to take pressure off marquee half Jarome Luai.

It is understood that Doueihi met with Dragons officials this week who have tabled him a multi-year deal as they look to secure the 26-year-old.

The Tigers want to give Doueihi a 12-month extension having re-signed him to a similar deal this year. The decision for the Wests Tigers is whether they are willing to extend their offer to two years to match the Dragons interest.

The Dragons would view Doueihi as a halves option but most likely a ball-playing lock. He has spent the majority of this season at the Tigers at centre but has been shifted with success to the forwards in recent weeks.

The goal-kicker also kicked a match winning field goal for the Tigers against the Titans two weeks ago.

The Dragons had been linked to Doueihi late last year after granting then skipper Ben Hunt permission to leave the join and eventually link with the Broncos.

While nothing eventuated back then the Dragons have maintained an interest in Doueihi whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Following a string of serious injuries, Doueihi has played his most first grade games already this year since 2021. He is on track to beat his career high of 20 games in a season with the Lebanese international lining up for his 19th game of the year when he takes on Canterbury on Sunday.

St George Illawarra have earmarked Cronulla’s Daniel Atkinson to start in the halves next year.

Parramatta bound Jack de Belin has spent the majority of this year at lock with the position now vacant heading into 2026.

The addition of Doueihi would also give Dragons coach Shane Flanagan more flexibility in his 17. With two hookers in Damien Cook and Jacob Liddle needing to be in the squad every week it makes it difficult to carry a utility.

That has forced Cook to fill-in at centre at times this season when an outside back has gone down during games. Doueihi would give the squad better balance.

The Dragons have also been linked with Dolphins prop Josh Kerr. Kerr played 68 games for the Dragons before joining the Dolphins in 2023. The 29-year-old – who was part of Queensland’s extended squad this year – is also considering an offer from Super League club Warrington.
