at least some evidence that money isn't everything to him. Direct from the player...not from a faceless, nameless friendAdam Doueihi reveals why he re-signed with Wests Tigers on two-year deal
Adam Doueihi has opened up on his decision to re-sign with Wests Tigers, revealing how the unwavering support of Benji Marshall during the toughest period of his career convinced him to stay.

Adam Doueihi has revealed his decision to remain a Tiger was influenced by the unwavering support of coach Benji Marshall through the toughest period of his NRL career.
The inspiring Doueihi, who has recovered from three torn ACLs, has capped a stellar past two months of football by extending his future at the Wests Tigers until the end of 2027.
The seven-time Lebanon international knocked back a two-year offer from St George-Illawarra to remain at Concord, after the Tigers upped their original one-year-offer to match the Dragons.
Doueihi has emerged as a genuine player of the year contender at the Tigers end-of-season awards night with his leadership, utility value and man-of-the-match performances at halfback, lock and centre, proving instrumental for the club in 2025.
“I’m a local boy and my priority was to stay,’’ Doueihi said.
“Also, after my third ACL (in 2023), Benji was one of the first people to get around me in the sheds after that game.
“The way he supported me through such a difficult period of my life, it’s something that I won’t forget.
“I appreciate things like that and the club showed faith in me by giving me a contract last year when I hadn’t played for 14 months.
“So I feel like I’m repaying that faith now with the way I’ve played this season and by getting this deal done.
“I had a good chat with the Dragons, I appreciate their interest and with their huge supporter base I had everyone of my Lebanese mates texting me trying to get me there.
“It was definitely something I thought long and hard about.’’
At halfback, Doueihi’s influence on the Tigers season’s best performance against the Bulldogs last week and five-eighth Jarome Luai was evident for all to see.
He said that he would meet with Marshall in the off-season to discuss his long-term position within the team.
“I want to get through this season in whatever position I play and then have a real good chat with Benji about where he sees me in 2026,’’ Doueihi said.
“Wherever I can help in regards to success and bring my leadership qualities and help us get results on the weekend that’s all that really matters.
“I feel as though I’m really comfortable touching the ball in the middle of the field and being involved in the big plays and so whether that’s at lock or in the halves, I feel as though that’s where my assets are best used.’’
Doueihi said he was confident in progression at the club with a fully-fit and available roster.
“Obviously a lot of new faces came to the club this year and it probably took us time to find our combinations, but over the last month we’ve found the footy we want to play and that suits our playing roster,’’ he said.
“We’ve got a good core group here that’s locked-in for next year and beyond, so with another off-season together, we’ll reap a lot of benefits next year.’’
Maybe he is Richo! 😱Reliably by who?
I don't profess to know what I'm talking about. I just look at the public reports...by people who have genuine connections in the game (managers, players, coaches).
Richo himself is quoted saying last offer when asked if we'd bump it up.
You know more than Richo?
He slags Richo every chance he gets. Unlikely.Maybe he is Richo! 😱
The haters won’t like that. Happy to play lock or in the halves. So much better than that clown that went to the dogs.Interesting ...

If there is the slightest chance of getting in finals, play Douhie at 7, Latu has done nothing outstanding at this pointI am torn as to how we play it moving forward...
Douheis form in the halves can't be dismissed... Doggies, Manly and the Eels. He played well in all 3 when he was playing 7.
Latu is only 20, so does it better his development to play 7 right now? Or does it benefit him to play the new age 13 role for a season so he gets the ball in his hands, without the responsibility of directing a team? Get those reps up in first grade... He still has less than 20 nrl career games, so it feels like a risk going into 2026 relying on him to lead us (with Luai) to a top 8 position.
Or do we bring in a proper halves coach (has to be of johns/Cronk/Thurston calibre) for Latu to get a full pre-season under... ? But is that a risky play if Douhei is already killing in the halves?
Alot of it comes down to how Douhei finishes the year if he plays in the halves...
I'm glad I'm not the one making the decision.
Ok Douehi signed with us for 350k, 150k less than the Dragons offer simply because he loves the club and he’s happy to play 13, 14 or left right out.
Does that sound better ?
no Doobie didn't pay commission to Izzak , club didn't stump it up either,Was mentioned on here earlier this week that if he took the dragons $400k offer he had to pay IM 8% which equals $32k, if he takes Tigers deal of $350 k he pays nil commission to IM , so in the end , difference is $18k, maybe WT stumped up the extra $18k
Don't know what games you've been watching.Doueihi doesn't have any form in the halves. Would need to see more.
Latu seems more focused coming in off the benchIf there is the slightest chance of getting in finals, play Douhie at 7, Latu has done nothing outstanding at this point
Your take on TPA are incorrect. You believe what you want to believe, but I was told by someone who I’m near certain is in a much better place to pass judgement than what you are, that it was very unlikely Doueihi would take a pay cut to re-sign with us.
Based on that information I’m assuming we have either matched the other offer, or as I’ve speculated, there could be a Wests Tigers supporter and Adam Doueihi fan who was willing to assist financially to help keep him at the club.
That’s not illegal, it’s how the 3rd party sponsorships work as far as I am aware.
If Douehi simply took a pay cut to stay with us, than that’s fantastic news, but unlikely based on my information.
Ok what are the numbers ?no Doobie didn't pay commission to Izzak , club didn't stump it up either,
Form generally indicates multiple games in a row.Don't know what games you've been watching.
they stayed the same ,yet its bad business if Doobie doesnt tip something onto Moses,So Doobie is out of pocket to mosesOk what are the numbers ?
Doueihi is a genuine utility who is also a good athlete with size, power, pace and a good long kicking game. The latter is a asset we've never utilised to the fullest. He also has an uncatchable high kick. From memory he was a schoolboy international rugby player.Interesting ...

Why cant You Vicious or myself being a 3rd party , if no club membership get involved ? as a - 3rd partyYour take on TPA are incorrect.
TPAS are between player and a third party and can not be influenced or have anything to do with the club. Using a TPA as a lever to get a player to sign for less is a breach of the salary cap rules. Putting them in touch with a financial advisor etc isn't. I'm not going to say that there aren't "arrangements" made that breach the cap rules but any admission would be stupid as a club would be in breach.
