Don’t under estimate the power of PVL.
If he thinks the current Wests Tigers set up is casing him too many headaches, which in effect it is, he will find a way .
I stand by my comments that BOF appears to have done the wrong thing, but I’m not going into that again and regardless HBG have rocked the boat too many times.
We all know what happens when the boat gets rocked one time too many,

For yours, mine and everyone else on the forum we can only hope that money talks and the D heads at HBG can walk.

Say something positive for a change unless your happy with the path the Tigers are heading, they have to go and I'm supporting any method necessary to achieve that, time to release the anchor around our necks.

The Club has been advised of a change in our Board structure by the Holman Barnes Group. As you can appreciate, the details of this change are still being worked through and will be finalised following the Club’s scheduled Board Meeting in December.
We completely understand your concerns and respect the position you’ve taken. At the same time, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind cancellations, as per our membership terms and conditions.
What we can do in good faith - is opt you out of next seasons renewal to ensure no further renewals take place without you actioning this. Your feedback has also been collated and reported up to management as part of a wider review.

I don't care about the refund and did specify that my membership would be renewed as soon as HBG were no longer involved in club operations.
If Shane Richardson leaves my next email will request all my information is removed from their data base.
After 35 years of supporting Balmain and now Wests Tigers (and yes I'm a West's Tigers supporter) this is the last straw for me.

While Section 41C is the central piece for accountability, other sections of the Act grant the regulatory body, Liquor & Gaming NSW, powers to intervene if they believe the governance of a registered club is failing:
  • Part 6 (Offences in relation to clubs): Although not directly about director removal at a subsidiary, it relates to the overall conduct of the club and its governing body.
  • Powers of Inquiry and Administration: Liquor & Gaming NSW has broad powers to investigate and, in serious cases, appoint a temporary administrator if a club ceases to be an effective governing body
In short, it is a potential breach of the overarching governance and accountability duties of the Holman Barnes directors as set out under Section 41C and the Registered Clubs Accountability Code.

This is the basis on which Liquor & Gaming NSW is monitoring the situation, as a registered club's board can be sacked for ceasing to be an effective governing body, which famously occurred with the Parramatta Leagues Club board in 2016.

Section 41A (Appointment of temporary administrator) allows the regulator, Liquor & Gaming NSW, to intervene and appoint a temporary administrator if the club's governing body has ceased to be effective. This power was the basis for the regulator to dismiss the Parramatta Leagues Club board in 2016 and would be the mechanism for a complete board dismissal in this current situation.

But I don't think it's issolated to the WT dismissal. Their ineffectiveness should incorporate the sackings of the other 4 directors

If your an old Maggie supporter I get the defensiveness, but how much crap are you prepared to endure as a supporter of WTs to accommodate this useless lot of blow ins who have no idea,how to successfully run an NRL club, but can successfully get rid of the only person who does. Stupidly they think they can continue to survive this and expect supporters to keep the faith.

You either support the WTs or you support HBG because one is at odds with the other.

Mate, I don't think anyone here supports HBG because they are a corporate entity. Hardly supportable or lovable. I do think some of us think the Magpie legacy has been zealously and unfairly attacked. It's understandable to a large extent because people are angry. But you can treasure your Magpie memories, still support WT to the hilt and be disgusted with HBG for their ongoing bad faith interventions.
That's me.

Purely hypothetical question, Steve. Would you be happy if Laundy bought HBG out and restored Balmain Tigers to primacy and relegated the Magpies to also rans or even non-events?
As I said purely hypothetical and not looking to start WW3.

But we are supporting them everytime they make a dumb arse decision that impacts the club and we turn up each year only for more pain. They have this will blow over mentality on the back of the rusted on loyal supporters.

Paton is the only human in the NRL community who thinks that sacking the four independents wouldn't effect Shane Richardson and Benji Marshall - let alone players and their managers. If that doesnt demonstrate that he and his people are not reading the room, don't care, and or have other priorities to seeing WTs thrive I don't know what does.

Personally, if I was in a position of power, I'd sack Board members who continually failed to refer decisions up the line for approval after a warning or two. By decisions I mean those previously agreed as needing to be referred. I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I can't understand, however, how the two HBG members on the board were not the first to go. As members of both boards they had no excuse.

To understand why those 2 HBG members weren’t sacked, go back to the so called independent internal review and the HBG’s eagerness to show they had agreed to all the reviews recommendations.
There were a few posters here who were skeptical. But not those who had taken notice of their previous examples of management. They simply believed that their positions of authority could influence outcomes. They who cannot be sacked, who have a reputation for sacking, found themselves unable to convince others . Now that is demoralising and cause for a ruthless over the top response.
Another reason they weren’t sacked is because they were Magpies warriors.
Think what you like though, we all have an opinion on the reason for their stupidity.

Judging by many of the comments on here it seems most people would be ok with that outcome, but to me it would be silly to go completely the opposite way.
