HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Dude, that sounds so ChatGPT...

That said, I don't think we have heard the real reason:
We have heard a rubbish excuse on the Jersey colour, I have no problem with hbg sticking up for the colours. But don't go wrecking the team over it! Plus all that should have been raised by the 2x HBG directors at the meetings.

We have also heard that the HBG board 'wasn't informed' of decisions around stadiums. Which is rubbish and the fault of the 2x HBG directors (unless those directors were not informed*).

Look I get it, when your Wests Ashfield you want your money Spent in Ashfield. The Croydon stadium upgrade makes sense, the C'town one is hard to justify as money spent on Ashfield. Our club though is bigger then one Pokie bastion in the inner city.

TLDR: This isn't a Balmain vs Wests thing, this is more likely a C'town vs Ashfield thing... But they are NOT saying that.

*this is actually a very serious board concern. Any decisions that involve significant amounts of money need to go to the entire board and be approved by the entire board.
^which makes me think this happened: Barry talks to state government/Ctown council and set's up the 50m stadium upgrade. They bring it to the board, people don't read the minutes. The 2x HBG directors get outvoted and the sour grapes occur.
^^Another scenario the 2x HBG directors were asleep/missing meetings. Everything was announced properly and they either miss the vote or get outvoted without doing their duty. in this case it's an utter failure of those 2 directors. ...

The only leway above is if the 2x HBG directors actually say 'the decision was never announced/notified', which I really doubt. Or Barry jumped the board and announced C'town without board approval (that's a fire Barry, not fire barry + 3 others). I doubt that happened.

Most likely the 2x HBG directors were getting their free lunches and tuning out during board meetings. Alll 100% their fault and their duty to raise their concerns.

We’re not getting the full real reasons. I would really like to get the REAL reason behind this, even just to know if it's total rubbish or part rubbish. Overall very dissappointed that HBG choose to wreck the wests tigers over a petty argument.
cheers mate, I’ve been called a lot of things befire but this is the first time someone’s called me an AI !! 😂🤣

Subject: Concern About Governance of the Wests Tigers

To whom it may concern,

I’m writing to express my personal concern about the governance of the Wests Tigers. In my view, the influence of the debenture holders and HBG has been damaging to the club’s stability, progress, and long-term direction, harming members, supporters, and the reputation of the game.

I ask that the NRL review the situation and intervene with HBG before further harm is done to the club or the league.

Regards,

Was surprised PVL didn’t commit to protecting the Wests Tigers fans rather than this:

““We will protect the Tigers fans and the Wests fans. It’s going to be a genuine Wests Tigers franchise …”

He kinda fell into the trap of being overly diplomatic.
I wonder if Denis ran all this past PVL before acting. Surely if I was PVL I would be spewing chips at Denis?

Unless he counts Denis as an Ally or something?

HBG just made a $9million profit in the past year … I doubt their combined payouts would exceed that …HBG will be fine
This is where reputational damage gets weird.
Look you are right that it likely wouldn't exceed 9m.
Yet it's crazy high amounts.

So expect judgements between 500k and 1m, maybe higher because they can claim 'lost income'.
Followed by 1-2M each for solicitor fees. That's the crazy part.

Yes HBG will have some profit to spare. Yes HBG will then deny Wests Tigers funding because they are under legal assault 🙁

These people aren't going to dig into their pockets to fight a multi-year legal case. You don't always win and in many cases, you pay your own costs.

They will move on because it's not worth the angst.

Do you care about HBG’s reputation ? I don’t…

If they have legally wronged someone .,,than those people deserve to be compensated…

That’s right, the 20 debenture holders are creditors with limited liability. Probably limited to $100? So they can misbehave without fear of retribution.
