HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

It is interesting though.

In 2 days I've been called naive, foolish, an idiot, a moron (self imposed), inexperienced, told that someone rarely agrees with anything I say (ouch), an apologist, 'head in the clouds' & a drug taker, a lemming & kool-aid drinker, apathetic (liked that one TBH), a fence sitter (not joining into a war I believe), not funny (that was just rude...) etc, etc...

That's just 2 days.

And all I really did was not show my support for a rally, not put the boot into HBG & asked a few questions of the statements being made (yes, often in a contrarian type manner- can't help myself). Also, pointing out that Richo is being investigated. And asking what Balmain bring to the joint venture.

But I'm not dishing out any kind of abuse, in fact, going out of my way not to.

Yet people on here are so worked up about things, they feel it's ok to do exactly as they have done.

And then "Wests Magpies Old Stooges" like BZN etc cop it even worse for having a different take again.

I'm not complaining. I find it interesting. I find it interesting that the people doing it- good people I assume- think it's sweet.

Am I bringing it upon myself? Sure. I will not disagree that I'm saying things people don't want to read.

But maybe before we start popping off on each other for opinions, maybe someone might read this & think...."oh yeah, I said that"...

Now, let's see who tells me to unbunch my panties & that I'm a Magpies apologist first...
.
Your smug amusement and voice of reason comments were designed to irritate and get a reaction and have done just that - just like you knew they would when people are triggered.

And you end off with an invitation to come at you again. Please ...attention seeking much.

Thank goodness for the ignore button.

Cash for comment much?

Shaun Mielekamp was brought into the club & that was a coup in itself. Great, smart operator & an obvious choice to replace Richo.

It could be argued his track record is superior.

If anything HBG held onto Madge too long & it was Lee & Pascoe via Sheens that moved him on.

Cleary moved once he realised Nathan wouldn't come to the Tigers. Not sure HBG had much to do with that.

Pascoe...here is what I'll say about HBG. If you are the significant share holding financier....whatever they are....no company owner is "hands off". What kind of company would hand everything over to someone else & expect no say in it?

Pascoe was given enough rope to hang himself 10 times over. HBG allowed him to do that.
Just to clarify. Cleary moved back to Penrith once Dave O’Neill gave him the nod that Gus was gone.

I’ve always liked Chamnas.
Many fans don’t like his brutal blunt honesty, but he is the most impartial of all the current rugby league journos in my opinion.
His comments today were the most impartial of the past week.
I have no idea why you think his opinion is impartial.

He proceeded to give us his one sided unaccountable opinion for 40 minutes which only proved he was speaking about matters above his pay and intelligence grade. Embarrassing really.

I understand that but what did he think putting a time limit on a decision from PVL was going to achieve ?
PVL was never going to bow down to his timeframe demands and like always will do things at his own pace when he is ready.
Richo knows via emails and messages that he has the unwavering support from a huge amount of Wests Tigers supporters, surely he could have waited a few more weeks for them if for nobody else.
Give himself a big payout.

Some play chess others pay checkers

Unless the coaching staff decide they want out, I don't think anything changes for next season at all.

By which time, a new CEO, board & front office will be in place & have an opportunity to put things in place.

Decisions from Bula & Luai MIGHT be impacted, for future seasons. But they were already under some scrutiny anyway.
For some strange reason, I can't imagine any of our coaching staff having many opportunities outside the club. Hodgson has a rep in Britain, Chris H has played for Cronulla but they have a stack of forwards looking for post nrl work.

Can't see the coaches quitting. only Marshall will have to deal with Dennis.

Marshall will not only be a WTs' great on the field, but a great off it as well if he can hold the players and recruitment together. PVL has said he wants Marshall/the playing group quarantined from the ructions off field. Hopefully PVL will be informed firsthand by the four ex directors about what has happened within the Boardroom.

It’s probably how HPG think.

My understanding is that the ARL /NRL own the brand “Wests Tigers” which must give them some rightful intervention powers, like they showed in 2014 by appointing a couple of board members.
When PVL has sufficiently researched this latest imbroglio I believe he could appoint administrators, in the belief that HBG debenture holders will never let any of us cruise into the Christmas spirit of peace and good will to all.

Balmain could have let Wests die and didn't. Now you hold the power you're lauding it over everyone. Grub
Balmain didn’t save Wests back in 1999, they lost their nerve and grabbed the cash (unlike Souths who showed plenty of backbone).

Do you seriously think the Balmain bosses back in 99 said to themselves - yeah we’ve had 80+ years, it’s been a good run - but let’s toss all that away and save our former neighbours Wests 🤣🤣🤣

As for lauding power - financing the Balmain juniors, adding a Balmain legend - Keith Barnes into the name of the organisation etc ... is hardly running roughshod over Balmain.

The real world, full of diverse opinions, can be scary when peering out of the echo chamber.

I haven’t instigated anything, and if people are divided - that’s the way the cards fall 🤷‍♂️
Teams are supposed to be united, and if you dont share the same vision, thats usually when people leave (i.e. galvin).

Thats the frustration from people on here. We need to be united towards winning under one banner, and for the most part, are.

HBG debenture holders are a very clear issue with that shared vision and everyone should be united to ensure we fix those issues with either democratic, accountable structures or removing them somehow.

If you're an apologist or defending them, then thats the issue where people feel like youre not part of the team.

Who actually sacked the 4 Wests Tigers independent board members?
Was it any of the Magpies board?
