HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

You seem very active on these topics I noticed lol, probably 100s of posts on the topic.

Anyway, I haven't noticed anyone diminishing Balmain's brand through the tigers or their history on here really, which is the way it should be.

But I have noticed Wests Magpies history denigrated and as I have mentioned previously many pushing for just a Tigers brand or a disconnect of the Wests brand from its traditional history, so I don't know what you referring to there..
When you refer to the Wests magpies brand, what are you referring to?

The club's name is "Wests Tigers". Wests got the location part of the brand. Tigers got the mascot.

So "Wests" is the first word in the name of the club and I haven't seen anyone suggest we get rid of that. Have I missed something?

The reality is, Balmain is dead as is the Magpie. They were the sacrifices made when forming the joint venture

So I guess back to the original question, what exactly are you suggesting people are trying to kill off form Wests Magpies, other than the self serving owners - who never put the football club first? Furthermore, who is encouraging it?

How did PVL overlook that?

Unless he didn't. And as I suggested- that blame shifts from the remarkably returned & formerly accused board members & is shifted to the no-longer-there former CEO that was instrumental in ground deals etc?

15 year ground deals- they'd be considered business decisions, yes?
No doubt about it...I think that is universally agreed.

I don't think PVL did overlook that. We can be certain of one thing. The destruction of the board was the catalyst for the NRL getting involved.

If it is in fact true that the stadium details were withheld despite there being HBG members on the board, I doubt the NRL or the independent directors would have any leg to stand on. I certainly don't think they'd have a legal case either as was being considered.

So if we follow your theory that something must have happened for HBG to react in the way they did and were absolutely right to do so, the question remains, why not just dig your heels in rather than invite them back via an arm twist from the NRL?

The Wests Tigers owners contribute the least funds of any of the 17 clubs owners

Has anyone invited them? Asked them to address the frothing masses?
That seems like a pretty intelligent thing to do.
To be able to front the hostile herd and give Wests side of the story which may have the effect of calming the "frothing masses".
If the organisers of the rally didn't invite them, they're pretty slack and to me shows all the organisers are interested in is being a frothing mass.

Yet alternatively, could HBG invite the "frothing masses" to have a discussion?

I think the fact you view them like that shows the lack of respect extended to our fans with genuine grievances. To the point where cochise has been physically threatened by one of them.

BZN (and the likes of you) are the exact representation of the problem with this club, whereby, due to your misguided loyalty to a brand that is deceased as far as the NRL is considered. You would blindly support an ownership/administration with a debenture structure that is not held accountable for all the failures that have occurred under their watch.

I don’t know you nor do I care to know you but you strike me to be a person that is satisfied with a participation certificate for all.

I’m in it to win it, I don’t care much for participation recognition.
That's your call dude. Enjoy the rest of the day and sleep well.

If only you held HBG to the same standards you do everyone else, we could start to have an objective and civil conversation.

Has any of y'all thought about the possibility that Burgess is actually smarter than any of us, in that Richo is no longer with us and all the others bar 1 apparently are back.

I will admit it crossed my mind for the briefest of moments, and then the realisation that he looks like he's crawled out of a St Vinnies bin put my curiosity to bed.

He hardly screams success and the facts of the last decade or so seem to back that up.

ALL Wests Tigers supporters were invited, not personally but in the week an a bit leading up to it via the socials
The fact the majority shareholders didnt attend to allay WTs supporters fears....is telling.
Supporters came from all over the country yet HBG couldnt manage the 15 minute walk from WA to PP

Which one is getting paid $1.5m to do nothing again?

What will they end up having to pay Benji if he starts having a bit of success and they need to move him on?

That's a very good point ink.

Facing disgruntled fans isn't easy, but it shows good leadership.

Look at Shaun Mielekamp.. he was in the role less than a day, yet has emailed all members and given them an opportunity to speak to him directly over the phone. He knows he's going to be met with alot of emotional fans wanting to cancel - but he is fronting up.

The HBG empathisers will find a way to twist this though .

I'm rofl thinking about Dennis jumping up to allay the fans fears.

Brother...I love you deeply, but can you imagine?

I'd pay to see that.

Ive NEVER heard the chair speak about the WTs....he only talks Magpies, only ever seen in Magpies gear when hes not wearing black plastic trench coats
As Epifania said, Wests Ashfield have been at war with Wests Tigers for 25 years
