Mavrik Geyer

I think he’s a chance of forcing his way into our top 19 or top 17 on a regular basis if he keeps improving.
I know he’s been around for a while, but would not be surprised if he’s ready to step up a level.
Obviously if he signs with Perth it makes it a bit harder as we would have one eye on the future.

It seems obvious he is going to Perth next year … I would prefer to develop others if that’s the case

Sometimes I can read the writing on the wall ..,

Did you watch the Tigers interview ? Any comment on his future ?
Yeah I watched it.
No mention of his future past this season, but seemed happy to be a Wests Tigers player as of now.
It sounded like Benji was keen to recruit him, so maybe we might be keen on keeping him for longer than one season.
I imagine the problem is Perth are offering a contract for a few years and will need an answer soon, where we probably want to see how it all unfolds for 10 rounds or so before making a decision on whether we would offer him a contract extension or not.

I won’t write him off yet , still a chance for the bench over Seyfarth , imo , first 6 or so rounds will determine his stay or go , I say he stays on a 2 year extension on medium dollars similar to Herbert

would rather play seyfarth over Geyer
I wouldnt. Given minutes Mav will improve and add plenty in defence and attack. Speed for a big kid and power... He looked strong in the trial v Penrith, also in 24 when he showed consistency in the NRL squad. Seyfarth has hit his ceiling IMO, same same and where does he fit now? In the interview Mav mentions he loves Benji, hopefully thats enough to keep him.

Right now I’m gunna go with what Seyfarth actually is rather than what out the door soon Geyer might turn into ..

I’ll reassess if anything has changed say Round 6

would rather play seyfarth over Geyer
My fear is Seyfarth gives away penalties and is very slow at playing the ball specially if he cops a hit the ref hasn’t called high Seyfarth just gets up looks around and kills the momentum, if he is hurt play the ball and go down , the ref can come back to it if the dopes up stairs look at it and make a call that it was high or illegal . Geyer just does the work and if given a chance specially after Benji invited him to his house for his interview he would be looking to pay that faith back from Benji .

I hate it when they do this, especially in our attacking 20, Seyfarth and Toa are our worst offenders.

Maverick will end up following his dad's foot steps and wear all the same jersey he did, Penrith ✅ tigers this year ✅ and for sure he'll take the carrot that Perth dangles ✅. Same same but different.
