Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I've never said Benji is the man. Im just saying it will be interesting to see if history repeats itself with Madge, thats all.
The premise is that you seem to think there is a cautionary tale around Madge over the next couple of years, like failure is a realistic chance. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you wouldn’t talk in that tone with Benji and it would be more along the lines of only looking at his potential upside. It’s a bit one eyed.

With Walsh at the back they are always going to be a title threat, he started really believing how good he was back end of season & stamped himself as the best player in the competition. Expecting him to take another level over next few seasons which is scary.

Im confused by the comparison to Benji. I dont see the relevance. Madge has had many whispers and reports about him wearing thing on a playing group. So yes, its more than fair to watch how he goes with interest the next couple of years. Benji on the other hand has no relevance to this discussion

Personally I dont think Walsh will get better than what he produced the backed of last year. He was like that becasue he was possessed, seeing that premiership window. It will be very hard to mentally keep that up. IMO the Brisbane playing group was do talented they won despite having Madge as coach. They saw the premiership and went for it. Now they have it, ill be curious to dee if they like the coach enough to continue it.

No - I personally dislike the SoO concept and have no interest in it. It's just something that the broadcasters want in the schedule so that's ok as it brings more $$ to the game.

Fair enough. I've gone off it a little lately but I think thats more due to the NSW boys club that has developed. Gould and Stuart are the only good NSW coaches. The rest are puppets

The rivalry is pretentious and overblown. They are apparently good games, and the players have more latitude than normal games however I am a Wests Tigers supporter and nothing else - not NSW not Australia and more likely than not I will not watch games they are not involved in so who the coach is or which players they put on the field or the results don't interest me.

I think it’s fair to make the connection that Madge will wear thin in Brisbane. Happened in Souths, happened with us too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was eventually moved on from the Broncs at some point before his contract expires. I think he’s a brilliant rep coach given the short stints. I hope he doesn’t get moved on though as I always liked him.

Walsh grows in confidence every year I'm, slowly gaining respect for him
