I get that.

It's entirely possible that the random person that looked him up was simply interested in his music career.

The narrative afterwards never focused on his music career or his career on a club board.

I would speculate- and that is the important term- that HBG reacted to what they thought was a slight against the financial backers of the club from decision makers at board level when certain financial decisions were not made in consultation with the HBG board. My speculation is that they reacted without all the information & that it came to their realisation that the issue lay...elsewhere...and once that element was removed from the club, and with the help of PVL & his interaction with BOTH sides- they saw fit to invite those board members back.

Does it show that the HBG board made a mistake? Yes, in that theory it does. Does it show they are incompetent? I'm not sold on that. At any level, there will be mistakes made by PEOPLE. The actions of those people after the mistake often dictate if a person are incompetent or not. If they saw they made an error & then offered to rectify it by asking the board members back- I won't hang them, or anyone, for that.

Issue is this isn't an isolated incident. This sort of Rubbish happens time and again with HBG. It is why we are considered a basket case.

This club never seems settled.
To be honest I think Laundy would do a much better job.

Could be cover until a take-over deal is done , we can only pray as this would be a huge upgrade on our current owners , Arthur is a Supporter and has the bank account to fund a team no issues

Burgess doesn't have a musical history to talk about. He's a coat tail rider and can barely play music or sing. Honestly he is god awful. He has no real career in music to speak of. Go listen to his majesty on youtube and that's about the best he can manage. It's something that shouldn't last more than 9 seconds on red faces.

He's got all these little side hustles with grand names like 'The Australian Songwriting Association", but its mostly just a front end for his grassroots pub rock open mic nights. (He's chairman and his wife is CEO... of course) It's not like he founded the Aria's and he's handing out awards to Kevin Parker and Parcels and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Matt Gudinski and Kyle Sandilands....

Maybe we make an organisation called the 'Australian Western Suburbs Magpies association' and I'll make my Dog CEO and get Ray Cashmere to act at Chair. We can make an MS DOS website for it. He was a magpie off the bench for 2 games in 1999 so that matches up with the dizzing heights of denny's career being the backing musician for Tiny Tim, and having one of his songs played in a few cinemas before ghostbusters was screened in Sydney in the 80s

He was only technically in the Masters Apprentices for a couple of months, and that was after the real band had broken up and he and his brother tried to revive the name with other musos. They recorded a (terrible) demo and played a few pub gigs before it all fell apart. Denny Burgess never appeared on any recordings for that band. When the band reunited he didn't play with them. Doesn't stop him from pretending that he DID, and even then who gives a flying fek its not a big act to get worked up about even if it were true.

just a creepy old fossil. Wants the magpies back at any cost but it doesn't stop him scoffing his guts at the corporate buffet during WT games any chance he gets. A loser and a fC9kup.

Because of HBG paranoia, scared the boogie man might get one foot in the door and try to scatter the magpies, they probably copped a whiff of that before Christmas and acted the way they did.

If true it just shows you how they are a bad fit for our club any other owners would jump at the opportunity at more money flowing into the club.

Laundy would be a breath of fresh air as an owner setting us on the right path compared to who we have now, all they really seem to care about is their precious magpies in reserve grade.
