We shouldn't weaken our playing roster to accommodate the priorities of a player manager.

Worst case scenario, we activate the clause for 2027 which gives ourselves time to find another fullback.

It would be idiotic to release bula when we have no one to replace him with. I also dont consider someone who has played no nrl a suitable replacement for 2027.

Keon is playing for souths in 26 and dragons in 27. Haas for the Broncos in 26 and souths in 27. Neither of them are throwing in the towel.

As you said, bula is a stand up guy, he wouldnt let his mates down because his manager told him to.

Bula is a dumb rc if his manager told him so ,
Bula is his own man and should be making his own decisions etc etc
No rush to resign . LOL moses might be teeing up a 3rd party for him to stay
Worst case, call in the club option ,Buy a stable low price /or swap ,high hopes with kids are hit or miss

But we don’t have to scratch this guys back anymore . There’s only 2 other players in the whole club managed by him . He has zero leverage .
And really we can blame one Tim sheens as when Liam Ayoub took up the bulldogs role it was the sheenius who recommended Moses . It was the sheenius who directed all the players who were guns circa 2010 … the big 4 and more to Isaac Moses … ao that’s why Moses was really kicking rocks when sheens got sacked again because his golden goose has run off with its golden eggs .

The leverage is that we are still at the bottom of the ladder and we only have 1 recognized 1st grade fullback at the club.

Explained a lot though. I was anti the sheens sacking first time around . It seemed extremely knee jerk and reactionary ….. it also was around the time another major even that is causing issues amongst the fanbase happened .
And sheens was notorious for having total control of the club …… anyways

anyways - yes .
We were just poor until the ,but that was when this latest rot started
 
Flanigan said as a joke when we offloaded Heininghton onto them ,could he have Fifita ,the club thanked him, admitting they where broke again
 
If we took up Bula’s contract option for 2027 after he knocked back an extension, I have no doubt he would not tank or kick stones. Of course his manager would big time. My only concern would be his ability to perform at 100% with all the outside noise from the media and fan base.

It's so hard to pick what's going on in a player's mind. Everyone has an opinion. Is it,
1) Just a "Hard day at the Office"
2) Not 100% switched on. Not 100% committed to the team.
3) OR only 100% switch on for 50% of the game? The mind tunes out at various times. Not totally focused all the time.
4) Tanking
The only ones that have any inklings are his teammates and the coaches. The rest is speculation.
