OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

He should have dropped Luai yes. It Luai and Douehi don't work. Every time they have played this year it hasn't clicked. Coming of a no try game as a coach I would be changing it up.
Benji’s job is to win each week.

Only one of our halves is batting at 80% over the last 5 years.

He has been good this year but he is far from a thinking man’s halfback.

He is not a half, he is a strong ball carrier but can only pass one way, if he actually decides to pass.

He is part of the reason we have only scored 4 tries in 4 games.
Yes he has been part of the problem, but a far less part than Luai who keeps getting selected despite him heading elsewhere as of next season.
A far less problem than the ridiculous team selections and interchange use we constantly see from Benji.

Are you suggesting we bring back Balmain and play all games at Leichhardt?
No.
As good as the team play at Leichhardt Oval which is largely based on parochial home ground support that actually allows a few calls to go our way, why would you or any Wests Tigers supporter want tj turn you back on the South-West region?

So you think selecting a bloke who talked a big game, delivered nothing and is now leaving the club ahead of a long time loyal local junior who is the ONLY player to score or assist in scoring any points for the team over the past month is a good idea?
We will see further evidence of this on Saturday afternoon.
So you think that being a local junior gives him the authority/ right to dictate to the coach where he is prepared to play and where he is not? Just Benji or any coach?
Not in any club anywhere would this be considered acceptable.

You’re missing the point. It’s not an issue about selection. I understand that in your opinion Luai should be dropped, but I don’t agree and that’s fine, I don’t need to change your opinion. It is my opinion that any player who wants to dictate team selections to the coach should no longer be part of that team. I don’t care if it’s NRL or under 10s and if it’s the best player or worst.

Benji has and is creating an unacceptable culture that is not accepted at any other NRL club.

Lock has been a problem for too long mate, time to pull the finger out and decide if they want to persist with Twal or bring in a recruit.

Schuster should be grateful for the opportunity, his career was headed for the dump, hopefully he doesn't feel entitled.

You might have noticed me being a bit pissy lately man, just had a gutful of the never ending drama that is the Wests Tigers.
Have we signed Schuster?

That part I agree with.
But I think you will find there is a much bigger back story to all of this than what is being presented.

I’m not a professional sportsmen, but if my team mate felt he was too important to play a selected position and walked, I’d be furious. The trust in him would be gone. He betrayed the club and his team mates. He can go play at the dogs with Galvin and they can not pass to each other and be happy.

Your second bit has also been concerning, but there was only one WT half out there on the weekend that was giving it a decent go and encouraging his teammates.

One has stated publicly that he would accept playing anywhere the coach wanted, even reserve grade for the good of the team, whilst the other took his ball and went home.

Benji didnt didnt pick Luai over Douhei, he picked Andrews over Douhei.

6. Luai
7. Douhei

Its been this way all year.

This week it appeared the line up was going to be:

6. Luai
7. Andrews

8. May
9. Api
10. Twal
11. Fainu
12. Roberts
13. Douhei

- 3 play makers with Douhei defending in the halves
- Sione, Bunty and Seyfarth as middle rotation off the bench to take on the big raiders forward pack... also means less minutes for May, which is what we have all been asking for.
- Andrews and Roberts are two KOE promotions and future NRL players.. havent you been calling for promotions?

The #13 role that Douhei was going to play is basically just another running #6, but with the option to run the ball more often.

Back to your focus on Luai, he has nothing to do with it.
You could rotate the jerseys, give Adam the #6 and Jarome the #13, it wouldnt matter. The difference between them is that Luai would still come out and play the game, make his runs, make his tackles. He hasn't dogged the team because he was upset about the number on the back of the jersey.

Next year one of the considerations looks to be Latu and Andrews in the halves, so moving Douhei to #13 for a few games isnt a bad idea, is it?

Matty Johns has said it twice today that he backs Benji's call to have 3 play makers - strategically, he knows what he is talking about.
