Dont get me wrong, im all for giving the guy a 2nd chance. We can give him a
T & T deal and see how he goes. His life experience would be invaluable for the younger guys. I wouldnt be putting him into any form of leadership role till we were certain he completly got himself sorted. Its not just footy, he has to get back up to speed with life aswell as playing footy. Give him a bit of time first to see how he goes.

Thursday they found out he was cleared. AD obviously felt that he was going to be an automatic late change to halfback and Benji mad an on the spot decision to keep Javon based on this weeks training. Hence the boil over.

I don’t think Javon would of been named this week if AD wasn't charged. I think it was a forced change that Benji wanted to see in action as the week progressed.

I think there was a mix up in Benjis / AD’s expectations once he was cleared.

Again what you're saying is Benji didn't even float the idea with his chief playmaker until two days before the game. He just saw his name not in the team?

And the all of a sudden on Thursday he gets told "By the way AD, you're playing lock this week"

And he wasn't even named at lock.

So basically, Benji dropped AD and didn't even discuss it with him?

Doueihi's played some very good games and some not very good games. He's a danger close to the line and unlike the majority of our backs, can go the length of the field with good pace. I am sure he will find a home if that regrettably is the outcome.

Doueihi would be good at 1 v 1 maybe, because he only has to look good by himself, however in a team environment I don’t think he is worth the hassle

I agree with what you said, but also look at Ethan strange for Canberra and Isiah for the dolphins both really young and going great. Not saying Andrews will go great but I think him and latu are the future halves

Maybe you are right. Maybe Benji could have handled it better.
And I'm not making excuses for him, but Benji is sick at the moment. So maybe he was sick and exhausted and figured he'd chat to Douhei the next morning at training?

And either way, what happens if there is an injury an hour before kick-off and a player is asked to move? Does the player require a weeks notice to fulfil their role for the team?

I cant see a way we look at this where Douhei is justified in the way he has carried on.

@Tucker, you often have differing opinion to me - what's your take on it?

He was named in jersey number 22.
They would have been training all week with Andrews at 7.
It's reported he was going to start at lock and Twal to Prop - so he wasnt being dropped.

Any halfback thats going to get dropped needs at least offered a frank discussion with the coach.....before the team is announced.

Really, if Benji didn't so that, I'd be p*ssed as well

Then whay wasn't he named at lock.

If Benji had a frank discussion with AD about being dropped, things might have been different

I'm not saying I wouldn't be pissed, ofcourse he would be upset. But to carry on the way he has, storm out of training and let the entire team, club and fanbase down, is selfish and pathetic.

Douhei has played 127 games and missed close to 60.

He should be grateful the club supported him the way they did. That the club extended him till 2029.

He has been paid thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars, per game, for those 60 games he has missed.

Whether he is upset or not, his behaviour here is pathetic.

Why do you expect a guy who is suspended to be named in the team?

Why can’t Benji after watching a side train all week make a decision to take that same team into a game?

Why does Benji need to speak to any of the players regarding where they play? Should he ask Turuva if he is ok shifting to the centres this weeks training after signing Jnr? Where does this mythical line stop of whom he needs to ask and who he doesn’t? It is based on position, contract status, personality???

Because he was named in the 22 jersey - so he was listed in a position where he wasnt expected to play.

Also, moving to lock isn't being dropped? He is still in the starting side?

He should speak to all the players about this sort of stuff, especially your halfback.

Did AD have any idea that he was going to be dropped, I wonder?

But is Douhei really a halfback?
What other club does he walk into and play #7?
He is a utility that can play multiple positions.
Yes, he can play #7.
Yes, he played well at the start of the year.
But he hasnt been great there the last few weeks, has he?

In a team who has scored 22 points in 4 rounds, including games against Dragons and Bulldogs - I don't know how anyone can anyone suggest his form warrants automatic selection, especially after a player like andrews who set up 4 tries the previous week.
