OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

AD was extended for 3 years recently, what a shit show. Probably going to have to contribute his next contract with another club

He wasn’t suspended, he was charged. And players who are charged, who fight it, always get named. Fifita did.
He was given a week suspension with an early plea when tigers named the side. He later chose to fight it. Why would you name the team expecting him to get off. Just because one team did it for fadita does it mean that the tigers need to follow suit? Is this a rule? Can different teams and coaches have different philosophies?

This could be the final straw for me. I’m sick of players thinking the club owes them this or that. We’re the poor dumb bastards paying hundreds of dollars a year to be members, attend games, buy merchandise etc.

I get AD wants to win games, play halfback whatever. I am extremely disappointed he chooses to further undermine a precarious situation by acting like he is. I am further annoyed players are seeking to undermine the coach. If they had as much drive and passion on the field we wouldn’t be looking at six losses on the trot on Saturday.

These guys still get paid. I’ve got to go into the office, cop more crap. Yeah it’s good natured but there comes a time you just want a footy side who cares more about the club than themselves. Lose by 70, 80? They look like they couldn’t care less. They’re not embarrassed, we are. My kid who is 12 and hasn’t had a finals appearance in his whole life is.

So losing? Yeah I’m used to that, I can deal with that. The apparent ambivalence to the club and its supporters? The constant white flag jobs from guys who won’t have a crack? Nope. I’m not going to keep paying for that. I’ve been going to the footy for 40 plus years and I may have reached my tipping point.

But according to Kenty and Hoops …the whole thing was premeditated… he knew Benji was going to ask him to switch position beforehand , and he planned to use this as a way to force himself out of the club

Yes maybe and if true this is very very ordinary. Its hard to believe a player could be this childish.

I'm backing Benji in telling AD that he was going to play lock or be a reserve when the team was being announced, I hope so because if AD didn't find out until he after he was let off, would he have a right to be unhappy? Not to the extent of walking out but still unhappy with how Benji handled it.

This club is a shit show. Doesn’t matter what premeditated this latest fiasco. Simple thing the club should realise is that all their supporters have had enough of this bullshit.

So I say to Doueihi and all the other players at WT. They have a very soft underbelly. Being very well paid players, each and everyone of them as a player is paid to play and do that to the best of their ability and to play for their own pride and respect of everyone concerned. Their one job is to turn up and play each weekend unless injured, to earn their pay packet. Do they have any personal pride? Do they think they have the respect of their long suffering supporters?

Doueihi needs to pull his finger out and go cry somewhere else and anyone else that doesn’t put in on weekends can go with him and that is a high number of these so called first graders over these last 11 weeks.
They are an embarrassment ( besides only a few real triers).

We all have possibly had a boss that is not liked or worthy of the title they hold, and you don’t like the office dynamics. But you still have to work at acceptable standards irrespective otherwise you will be shown the door. Each player in our side should ask themselves if they have performed at acceptable standards over these last 11 weeks. If being honest with themselves, not many will agree they have.

Geez I feel sorry for API. Please give him a release so he can go and get out of this shitshow club and get some relief where his blood sweat and tears is supported and valued.

What I hear and read is that the coach and player supports needs a way to make sure the players are motivated. Your being paid good money and that should be the only bloody motivation they need. If they can’t get themselves motivated to play the game they supposedly love, go and get a real working job, and get a reality check.
Yep , put a $250k transfer fee on his head , plays Reggie’s end of story . Sad man , but oh well . I am have a sniff as Coby black as raiders.

Yes, he's a versatile player. I have watched him through SG Ball for Balmain playing 7. He played Australian Schoolboys Rugby as well. If he goes to market, he will be valued and there is no better indication of how a club views a player.
Oh righto, I thought most sevens had a decent passing or short kicking game as well as leading the team around the park. His limitations are exposing his current game and opponents are working him out.

I was being sarcastic… I doubt there was any advance plan from AD to use this to force his way out of the club…as someone just speculating like you, I think he has blown up on the spur of the moment

Ehh

When was the last time a player wanted out and we said no or even got something out of it?

If he wanted out, he would have just asked

It wasn’t just one instance with Fifita. All teams do it.

Hey Adam (I know you read the forum)- if you think your bigger than the club, pack your bags. You have a young kid under you (Latu) getting played in every position patiently waiting in the wings and doing what the coach asks of him not having a sook. Your influence on the younger kids in the club and your demeaner rubs off on others in the team. If ya want to have a sook go do it at the bears will ya. I would give my left nut to be in the position you are in. Team first.
But if the coach wants the right nut instead cause he already has a better left nut will you still part ways with it? ... 😉

Paul Kent claiming there were whispers circulating Wednesday night Adam’s Thursday morning blow up was going to happen, that it had been planned.

Interesting if true
Boy this is better than a Harlen Coben Netflix series! More twists and turns than you can poke a stick at. If only the Wests Tigers would become a real NRL team instead of being a Hollywood blockbuster.

Dont get me wrong, im all for giving the guy a 2nd chance. We can give him a
T & T deal and see how he goes. His life experience would be invaluable for the younger guys. I wouldnt be putting him into any form of leadership role till we were certain he completly got himself sorted. Its not just footy, he has to get back up to speed with life aswell as playing footy. Give him a bit of time first to see how he goes.
Seems a very sensible approach. I knew a friend of my older cousin who went to gaol for drug possession and he was a (brief) but very positive mentor for me. I wouldn't say I was ever in danger of really going off the rails but I did do a lot of petty stupid things, testing the boundaries, stuff and he came down on me like a tonne of bricks. He took a genuine interest in me not messing up my life due to some stupid mistakes. Only my experience, and M was convicted of a serious violent crime, but perhaps his life experience and guidance to younger players around choices could be useful, as there are a lot of temptations outside of football that I imagine young players can fall into (and feel invincible). Again just my experience.

Gee wiz
He was our best player for the first 8 rounds and now the coach wants to move him away from the position he is best at….smells very strange
I think there is more to this story and other players will come out and support A.D.
That is going to place the coach in a very bad place

A forum member last night stated that Doueihi had done more than enough to hold his position in the team. I cannot disagree with this and while I support Marshall as coach, I do find his selection at 13 puzzling especially with what I consider to be the added defensive workload and carrying a shoulder injury.
Huh? How many tries have we scored with him at half? How many try assists does he have since he came back compared to how many tackles has he missed and how many line breaks went through Douhei… how many wrong pass options did he take? He does not make the players outside him look good by giving them good service almost ever..

It’s clear as day Benji always wants to promote youth and gives little substance to players because they have been there - done that..

A few years ago Bateman was annoyed because he felt Benji didn’t respect the senior players.

Last year a few got thier noses out of joint because he supported Galvin so much.

So I can see why there COULD be a rift, but the ways AD has gone about it just sucks.

Well if that's the case Benji needs a close look at how he handled the situation.

A coach assumes he's getting off but Benji didn't name him at half, so you assume Andrews was preffered over AD.

But weirdly AD only found out about this on Thursday morning?????
Considering it's being reported that Douehi knew he was going to spit the dummy and not train on Wednesday night and it was premeditated, that suggests that Adam was informed on Wednesday after the judiciary hearing
