OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

Could it be that Adam knows his shoulder isn't great and playing at lock, would probably end his season much earlier due to an injury he may get during a tackle ?

It’s clear as day Benji always wants to promote youth and gives little substance to players because they have been there - done that..

A few years ago Bateman was annoyed because he felt Benji didn’t respect the senior players.

Last year a few got thier noses out of joint because he supported Galvin so much.

So I can see why there COULD be a rift, but the ways AD has gone about it just sucks.
You could also say it’s the way Benji has gone about this.
I don’t think there was any need to shift A.D. at all from 5/8 or halfback.
Why not move the player who has already signed with 2 other clubs??

Gee wiz
He was our best player for the first 8 rounds and now the coach wants to move him away from the position he is best at….smells very strange
I think there is more to this story and other players will come out and support A.D.
That is going to place the coach in a very bad place
not really . The lightning in a bottle went away , the rules shifted mid season , and he was no longer running at tired defences thus , actually using the other team mates became important .

The senior players in a 5 game losing squad dont own their positions and are delusional if they think that a coach will persist unconditionally when their job is dependent on a win loss ratio.
Losing is not accepted in successful clubs and if we are ever going to improve neither should it be at WTs.
Got some very comfortable players not use to being held accountable due to the limitations of the club.

Maybe you are right. Maybe Benji could have handled it better.
And I'm not making excuses for him, but Benji is sick at the moment. So maybe he was sick and exhausted and figured he'd chat to Douhei the next morning at training?

And either way, what happens if there is an injury an hour before kick-off and a player is asked to move? Does the player require a weeks notice to fulfil their role for the team?

I cant see a way we look at this where Douhei is justified in the way he has carried on.

@Tucker, you often have differing opinion to me - what's your take on it?
First of all, I’m disappointed in AD for dogging his mates and the fans. These two groups are the victims here. You deal with stuff like this like a man. Not a coward running away.
Secondly, Benji has shown what a poor coach he is. My guess is he was convinced AD would be suspended, so was caught off guard when he was downgraded and rushed this decision in a half arsed manner. If AD didn’t care he would have just taken the ban, but he fought to be available and was rewarded with a kick in the balls.
Playing in the middle is hard as hell. If I wasn’t used to it, I would also feel shortchanged being told so close to game day.

So in summary, Benji stuffed this up but that’s no excuse for ADs reaction.

You conveniently ignore his last 4.or 5 weeks where hes been one of.our worst... might be why the coach wants to move him and try another angle in attack...as we.cant score points lately

Simple as that.

It's all very disappointing hey.
No winners here.

Earlier today its reported he was pushing for a release

Now Riccio saying its all good...no release sought
If anyone will pay him full freight or close to, let him walk. Suspect that’s a stretch and unlikely with any guarantee of a halves position. He’s probably found that out.

Like what Watmough had to say about it

Would he turn down a NSW jersey, at #13 ?

AD has the potential to be a great 13.
Better than being an alright half.

Guess some players just want it more.

Benji made a coaches call. He is the coach. Douehi dogged it, as you observed.

Do people actually watch Douehi ?
He won't pass the ball when he should and his best option is 9 times out of 10 to play for himself.
Great when it comes off has had some great individual efforts - can't deny - when the team has got some momentum but when backs are against the wall drops his bundle like a sack of potatoes.

Point taken but the whole team has been playing like busted assh???? Not just AD
And he signed for a further 4 years.

"the playing group as a whole was not very well connected".... what exactly did you actually hear to make you believe this?

They seemed pretty connected the first 7 rounds when we were coming 3rd.
He was talking to Burgo at the HBG support group rally and Burgo told him everyone hates Bula and they want Burgo to coach them

Cant stand Ciraldo but loved his response to possible interest in Douehi an emotionless "no thanks".
Poor AD,

He isn't a Fletcher Sharpe that's exceptional at 1 or 6.... he's a capable 6 that's more suited to 13 but lacks the killer instinct to play in the forwards.

The old MCK dilemma.
Too small for backrow / Too slow for centre.

These options are unlikely to present themselves elsewhere. Likely to go from starter to bench player at another club, the more I think about it.

I'd like to remind everyone;
Schuuster is also saying he only wants to play in the halves.
