OFFICIAL Adam Doueihi #227

“AD was arguably the form half of the season until his injury”

I think that’s drawing a very long bow

Maybe in the top 10 on early season form

He was never in the conversation as a starting origin half, at best considered as a utility

Yeah i agree mate. This is the confusion that has set in around Adam Doueihi. Im happy to admit and say he was one of the form "players" of the competition , but he was no way one of the form halves. Im not even sure how i explain that comment, but ill try. As an individual AD was great. But as a 7 he was very limited, clunky, sideways and struggled to bring other team mates into the game. It really is a strange situation, you have a guy who is the form player in the comp wearing number 7, but as a 7 he is bottom 5....*thats after 7 rounds). I dont think I have ever seen it before.

Benji has been running with 3 halves with one being a ball playing lock when ever possible to relieve twal ( Latu normally when available)

Benji chose
Javon Andrew’s
Jerome Luai
Adam Douhie

Which one of those was best suited to cover lock ? I’d suggest AD

Additionally the team and Adam had been VERY poor for a number of weeks so worth trying something different (ie Javon Andrew’s whose been killing it in reserves)

Adam as a contracted player (senior or not) had no reason to refuse to comply with the coaches decision other than self interest.

This is also supported by the Kimmorley interview, that shows he has form in self interest.

Adam needs to front up to Benji, then the squad and apologise for his actions OR leave the club as it is obviously 2nd to his own interests.

Very disappointing as he may now join
M Moses
Josh Alioia (can’t spell )
Galvin

Gee wiz
He was our best player for the first 8 rounds and now the coach wants to move him away from the position he is best at….smells very strange
I think there is more to this story and other players will come out and support A.D.
That is going to place the coach in a very bad place
Fair dinkum,Coach is boss, players are players, or what is it in his contract...I will not play anywhere but 6 or 7 .just get the 🤬 on the field and do your job for the team..we haven't been getting results,so the coach has made a call for what he thinks will work to get the 2 points.. right or wrong fire up..

Yep fully agree

"The same sources, however, confirmed Doueihi’s decision this week to make himself unavailable for the trip to Canberra had nothing to do with being moved from the halves to lock."
I find it hard to believe that if he rocked up on Thursday and was named at #7 that he would be sitting out this weekend.

The most anticipated team list next Tuesday will be the Wests Tigers.

Yep fully agree
x3

He had a great run rounds 1-8, but he wasn’t playing the halfback role even though he was wearing the #7.

It’s a shame he wasn’t open to a positional change as I reckon he’d make a good lock.

Given all the BS news articles that have gone out, I’d say Moses is driving this.

Hope the boys ignore it and just rip in on the weekend. Big chance for Javon to silence all the noise.

I think this part of the column by Nicholossi may be the only factual part of the ‘story’.

“When Marshall confirmed Doueihi would be the one to make way for Andrews in the halves – not Luai, the marquee man who is headed to Parramatta at the end of the season – the 27-year-old felt aggrieved. Maybe there was even a bit of resentment, and a feeling of being taken for granted.”

He is a good individual player but does not make his teammates or the team better. He is not creative and does nothing for those outside him. I like AD he is a good player but unfortunately it’s hard to find a position that suits him, his best position is probably lock. He was good because he had some great individual efforts but it’s not sustainable. The amount of tries we bombed this year because his passes missed the mark or he didn’t pass.

He just flicked him from the club - how is that being too close ?
Actually..Luai flicked Benji...and he stuck by him regardless at the expense of our best player
Misguided loyalty
Appallingly managed by Benji to spring a surprise like this
Anyway..one step closer to the inevitable final chapter

Doueihi pre shoulder and post shoulder have been day and night, its still busted so i can see why if Benji was determined to play Andrews seeing as though he was named initially anyway.
IMO you don't just refuse to play, barely ever happens in the NRL if ever, somewhere where it does happen is the Premier League of Football more broadly usually to push through a transfer.
Doueihi is a big Liverpool fan i reckon he's seen this movie before so could be a bit of smoke in where there's fire.
I said earlier there's no way back when you refuse to play, you disrespect your team mates, the fans. the club and the coach. Let him go i do like him but this leaves a sour taste honestly he goes to Perth we take a look at Humphries as a replacement who was going to Perth.

Seems a very sensible approach. I knew a friend of my older cousin who went to gaol for drug possession and he was a (brief) but very positive mentor for me. I wouldn't say I was ever in danger of really going off the rails but I did do a lot of petty stupid things, testing the boundaries, stuff and he came down on me like a tonne of bricks. He took a genuine interest in me not messing up my life due to some stupid mistakes. Only my experience, and M was convicted of a serious violent crime, but perhaps his life experience and guidance to younger players around choices could be useful, as there are a lot of temptations outside of football that I imagine young players can fall into (and feel invincible). Again just my experience.
100%, he could be great for the younger guys. Id just go really slowly to allow himself to ease back into life and footy before liading him up with responsability. Give him abit of time to get used to life now hes served his time and to earn his way back to the N.R.L squad and get back into footy.

When Cleary is out, Ivan doesn't play Yeo at half. Great 13, doubt he'd be any good at 7.
AD might have been going okay, but ask his outside men what they think. He's not a half.
We are famous for having a heap of ball in the red zone for no result. That's on the halves. Both AD and Luai.
No grubbers, no chips, no deft inside passes, nothing. Zero.

Yikes that Christian Nicolussi article is embarrassing for the club

How/why are injured players still paying to travel to games?

Our owners are a joke
I didn't see a single quote in that article. I did see this horse shit in there though "according to sources not authorised to speak publicly". Just make up a story and then say you can't name your source. Journalism 101.

However, Doueihi remained unsure of what Marshall was thinking until he marched into the coach’s office on Thursday morning.

When Marshall confirmed Doueihi would be the one to make way for Andrews in the halves – not Luai, the marquee man who is headed to Parramatta at the end of the season – the 27-year-old felt aggrieved. Maybe there was even a bit of resentment, and a feeling of being taken for granted.
From the SMH article.

If this is the case, (who knows what actually happened) but Benji needs to have alook at how he deals with dropping people.

Tell someone two days before the game, really? (I can't believe it and back Benji)

And the halfback of the team?

What's going on?

Is this article BS?
