Yea, I saw him as well, fist pumping the guys ?Was that former ref, Chris Sutton in the sheds wearing a Tigers polo?
Have noticed A few new refs getting starts lately. Time for Klein, Gerry and Atkins to bugger off to Coles nightpacking.
Maybe, but I can catch and pass as well and I don’t think I should be playing in the NRL. I’m 68 and am probably still faster than Solo!!I'm with most with solo, needs a lot of defensive work (like maka) but can catch and pass which I feel like we haven't had in a centre much in the last 10 years lol
Agree with your points. Just mak has been the prodigy because he had the physical gifts but also showed skill, and talents that stood our,, he has had a baptism of fire but I believe he will have learnt a lot from the experience and be back with a vengeance next yearA lot of kids come through looking like stars because they physically may develop earlier or are just naturally stronger so can just run over players and dominate them in the lower grades. Its a curse cause it stops tgem from developing tge rest of their game, tgey rely on running over people. But once they make the step up, they cant just rely on the physicality anymore and thats when all the defficiencies in their game show.
Send benji to NZ and bring back warriors reserve or fleg player'sThere must be oodles of players from other clubs in the lower grades with better attributes wanting to get an NRL run.
Look around guys.
Bula actually got called for one of these last night, I think the ref called it "a driver". There's a fine line between the permitted action (lending weight to stop your team-mate being driven backwards) and a rugby-style maul.Other thing i hate is why attacking teams are never penalised when there mates being tackled and they decide to help push him 5 metres up field while the defenders are holding him and the refs calling held.
I also wanted to say last night, slipped my mind, that we had oodles of ball in the Cowboys territory and didn't convert. It's a long-established problem for us that we need to fix, because despite the reffing we still could have got on top with the mistakes we forced from Cowboys.
Could easily have been 24-10 to Tigers with some better execution and luck of ref calls.
Yeah well.said chunk....we played pretty well for an hour until we got worn down, you could see the players getting frustrated with the officiating too....we made them ...all 14 of them...work hard for that winYeah some of the calls were poor but more importantly was the very good performance, there is some hope for next year.
Thats is one game where the performance was more valuable than the result.
Couple of better centres next year should make things better
Yep, seems to be the way these days.Yea, I saw him as well, fist pumping the guys ?
Rules and ‘interpretations’ change anywhere on the field if it’s the tigersThere is a technical issue with the Luai no try.
So technically the call was "mikaele didn't clear the ruck" because if he had cleared the ruck, it's fair game.
But isn't the Bunker not allowed to rule on Ruck infringements?
Thats my point...its entirely our fault Pole ran into Drinkwater, who wld have had no chance of preventing the try...but the rules have been that way for several yearsI don’t reckon api intentionally knocked the ball out though … that’s the thing. To me it looked like a last ditch effort to bring a bigger man who was in the act of scoring to the ground. Mikaele made 3 steps and was obviously going for a run. Also the fact he went on with the tackle after the ball had been popped loose says it all
The May try got taken off us because Pole ran into Drinkwater, nothing more. That was a really poor read by the Cowboys defense and if pole had a bit more awareness it would have been given
We need strong defensive centres who can set up their wingers in attack.Couple of better centres should make things better, more stike
I think it was clear that Drinkwater made the decision to tackle Pole. He wasn't sliding for May. AThats my point...its entirely our fault Pole ran into Drinkwater, who wld have had no chance of preventing the try...but the rules have been that way for several years
