LIVE GAME Round 26 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
A lot of kids come through looking like stars because they physically may develop earlier or are just naturally stronger so can just run over players and dominate them in the lower grades. Its a curse cause it stops tgem from developing tge rest of their game, tgey rely on running over people. But once they make the step up, they cant just rely on the physicality anymore and thats when all the defficiencies in their game show.
Agree with your points. Just mak has been the prodigy because he had the physical gifts but also showed skill, and talents that stood our,, he has had a baptism of fire but I believe he will have learnt a lot from the experience and be back with a vengeance next year

Yeah some of the calls were poor but more importantly was the very good performance, there is some hope for next year.

That's one game where the performance was more valuable than the result.

Couple of better centres next year should make things better

Other thing i hate is why attacking teams are never penalised when there mates being tackled and they decide to help push him 5 metres up field while the defenders are holding him and the refs calling held.
Bula actually got called for one of these last night, I think the ref called it "a driver". There's a fine line between the permitted action (lending weight to stop your team-mate being driven backwards) and a rugby-style maul.

They should call up 100% of cases of "driver" and send them back to the mark, where the action started. It doesn't need to be a penalty but it will always then disadvantage the attack.

Very common on kickoff returns.

I also wanted to say last night, slipped my mind, that we had oodles of ball in the Cowboys territory and didn't convert. It's a long-established problem for us that we need to fix, because despite the reffing we still could have got on top with the mistakes we forced from Cowboys.

Could easily have been 24-10 to Tigers with some better execution and luck of ref calls.

Yeah well.said chunk....we played pretty well for an hour until we got worn down, you could see the players getting frustrated with the officiating too....we made them ...all 14 of them...work hard for that win

There is a technical issue with the Luai no try.

So technically the call was "mikaele didn't clear the ruck" because if he had cleared the ruck, it's fair game.

But isn't the Bunker not allowed to rule on Ruck infringements?
Rules and ‘interpretations’ change anywhere on the field if it’s the tigers

I don’t reckon api intentionally knocked the ball out though … that’s the thing. To me it looked like a last ditch effort to bring a bigger man who was in the act of scoring to the ground. Mikaele made 3 steps and was obviously going for a run. Also the fact he went on with the tackle after the ball had been popped loose says it all

The May try got taken off us because Pole ran into Drinkwater, nothing more. That was a really poor read by the Cowboys defense and if pole had a bit more awareness it would have been given
Thats my point...its entirely our fault Pole ran into Drinkwater, who wld have had no chance of preventing the try...but the rules have been that way for several years

Absolutely, but rules in the NRL are totally discretionary. Turn up the volume and you will hear the short whistle signalling to the Bunker to reinvent the rules. The deciding factor is jersey colour and ours is the wrong colour. The "correct" team won, doesn't matter if they were the better team or how we got there. NRL is unwatchable.

Totally robbed
Both Tigers disallowed tries should have been tries that takes us to 22 pts
Plus 2 less pts to Cows
Could argue Cows 3rd try should be no try
Those changes and we win 22-16
On top of 11-5 pen count against us
Benji finally said something !
Fox panel agreed Tigerx copped a raw deal
