Which would make sense. Tigers fans have every right to feel emotional about the matter given it affects them. Then there's neutrals and most people I know don't have an issue with it

Thats the part I don’t get. He was cleared by the medical team to travel. But he hadn’t even had scans yet so. Unless he has been ruled out of next week any professional sportsperson would be rehabbing immediately and any professional club would be saying “injury assessment & rehab first your club for 2028 second” but I get it we obviously have zero balls in our management.
 
Promoting PNG is in the NRL's best interest and Jarome L is part of that. Instead of bagging WTs they made the decision not to be part of it by moving him on - they either knew this was coming or feared it might. It now becomes a Parramatta issue. Plenty of things this club does arse up but they were proactive in this decision and put the club ahead of the player.

And I'm afraid you aren't paying attention to the diplomatic news. Less than a year after the PNG bid was accepted for the NRL, PNG signed a formal military alliance with Australia on 6th October 2025. They do not have an alliance with any other nation. It just went into formal effect July this year.

The Australian Govt has veto power on the Chiefs funding - they can withdraw funding if PNG sets up security arrangement with countries outside the Pacific, without consulting Australia. NRL would also be compelled to remove the team.

The Chiefs have to promote his signing widely as do the NRL. They want the club to be a success from the start.

Thanks. Certainly didn't know that. Scotch eggs were a treat when I lived over there in late 80's. Stovies was my regular dinner. There was a small free weekly Australian news magazine that I would pick up on my way to work that had oz rugby league and union information for a minor dose of league news from the antipodes.

it will be interesting next year if Parra don't make the semis. They will finish playing in Sept but he will still be contracted until Nov. 2 months they will be paying him while he spends the majority of time in PNG setting things up - farcical.

Honestly I don't even care any more.
This circus will continue next year.
The club made the right decision letting him go early.
No wonder the team fell off a cliff... the guy pumping them up and meant to be leading them had his fingers in another pie.
I have no issue with him personally, but good riddance JL...

One or two? Haha id be surprised if it isnt closer to 5 or 6..
Hes already been 3 times this year.
 
He is our supposed (c) and is still a Wests Tiger yet every time he goes there hes indirectly promoting the chiefs wearing shirts with Luai #001.
If.people cant see the disrespect to our club and treating us like dirt rhwn i dunno...and.if.we allowed this it just yet again..like.Douehi,.makes us look weak and have no self integrity imo

The weakness of the club is long established.
 
This Chiefs deal has got a lot riding on it hence the liberties that they have been given allowed to sign players that is against everything the salary cap is supposed to prevent. Luai is the face of it and his involvement with any other club till then will be considered secondary.
I think the clubs actions already demonstrated that his role at the club was no longer deemed valuable
