Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The raiders only scored points when we were down a man

Again, we were missing players too for that game and didn’t score any points during their sinbin so the win had merit. It’s swings & roundabouts stuff

Actually, yes you are right. Apologies, I forgot that Martin played on before leaving the field after halftime.
I agree the Warriors win had merit. As I said I thought we looked genuinely classy in that game.
I in fact believe all the wins had merit to some extent (perhaps not the Eels one, both teams looked like spoon contenders in that game). I think it shows that with a bit of luck and the right attitude there is a side here that should be competing most weeks and certainly capable running about middle of the pack.
I however think (some of) the talk about how well we started has been drastically overstated. We genuinely only looked classy in the one game. Looked awful in another and about average in most.

I actually thought the first round bye helped us in a way. We hit the ground running with enthusiasm and were very fit.
We won games with fitness and application and enthusiasm.
Many clubs warmed to the season and got better and fitter after 5 or 6 games whereas we looked like we peaked early.
Robbo and the Roosters are experts at timing their season to peak at the end not the beginning.
We started to get jaded and injuries kicked in when other teams were hitting their straps.
Then throw in a few substandard subs and some internal dramas on top of more injuries- bingo we can’t handle the intensity and pressure of weekly NRL especially now that the rest of the teams are starting to click and we started to lose a few.

I wouldn’t need to read a story to figure that out. It’s not really news.

Judging by the amount of reports that were saying that Tyson, his wife and kids were well entrenched in the Newcastle area and that his wife had a successful business there makes the move to Sydney a bit of a story.

This can only be good news as it shows that the Frizells are taking this very seriously and that at least on the surface it doesn't look like Tyson is treating this like a contract to simply top up his retirement nest egg.

Other news around the place is that all concerned parties are not opposed to a contract extension if all goes well next season is also heartening news.

It's complete disregard for the fans just trying to get more money out of the TV rights

Wildcard round I was personally thinking that's what the 26 rounds was for to separate the competition having to earn the right for a crack being better then the teams that miss out

Just scrape the 26 rounds then play a Super Wild Card weekend start Friday finish Sunday night the two top teams play in a game of Touch footy Grand Final the weekend after

Get rid the 6 tackle rule make it unlimited tackles/Touches and at half time have a juggling competition with the other teams who didn't make the Grand Final now that's entertaining

wildcard is a good move gives teams 1 to 6 the week off rewarding top 6
for example
tigers v dogs
parra v st george

would be massive for nrl for wildcard round

Its a joke. If you earn 7th or 8th over 26 rounds, why the hell should you run the risk of missing the finals to 9th or 10th? It goes against every fabric of sport, not just rugby league. Its a disgraceful concept.

I can see it now, Tigers finish 7th, finally do enough to play finials, then lose this bullshit wild and game to 10th placed Parra and our drought continues.
