Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

it can also work in our favour we finish 10th we are still a chance.
it keeps interest in the remaining few weeks of the competition, perhaps next year we dont all lose interest in june like usual when we can't make it
It would be a hollow feeling to backdoor your way in from 10th. Especially as someone pointed out if you win due to a dodgy call.

I knew someone would say that. Its ridiculous thinking Jedi. The modern game is a lottery with ref decisions, momentum issues etc. Its completely unfair to go into an 80 minute battle having earnt a finals spot after 26 or 27 rounds of football and have it ripped away by a team that didnt earn it because on that day they got the calls.
What if 7th and 10th both finish on 13 wins ? Or there’s some abominable ref decisions that factor in one way or another . What about injuries and bogus suspensions like api getting 3 weeks for a hip drop that they stopped penalising the moment he came back .
My point is if you’re the 9th or 10th team and you’ve been in your opinion hard done by , and the 7th team is someone like the roosters or Brisbane , who seem to get forever ending rub of the green , do you still think that you will have the same ideas around traditionalism ? I genuinely don’t think so mate .
I actually think the game should be in 2 conferences come 20-22 teams .
A south and a north . Drawing an imaginary line right along the parramatta river .
You could go with a top 4 of each conference or a top 4 , with the 5th placed teams of both conferences playing each other , with the team with the best overall record getting a bye in round 1 , and the play in game happening mid week, say Thursday , to follow up the final round 1 playoff game on Monday night , against the seeded 2 team overall . So a massive advantage for the 2 seed , and a massive disadvantage for the play in team .
There would be drama galore , never ending chat about burnout , and maintaining freshness , it would absolutely own the zeitgeist .

"Successful business"

I think she could run an online clothing store from any city.
I gave what I thought was a reasonable response to that but it looks like a mod may have deleted it.

I wonder how many of my other posts get deleted and I think it's pretty poor that posts are deleted with out providing a reason or letting the poster know.

Some great recruitment in our NRLW space.
I don’t watch it near as closely as I do the men’s, but I watch enough to know that Rima Butler from the premiership winning Roosters team adds size and power running that our team has been lacking within the middle forwards and Jayne Millard from the Dragons adds genuine speed and attacking flair that our team has been lacking out wide.
Kudos to whoever is responsible for our NRLW recruitment and hopefully a couple more good quality signings to come and strengthen the team even further.
On the Jayme Millard signing topic, I’m sure her father Shane either played or coached at Wests Tigers at some stage?
I believe he has most recently been the Recruitment and Pathways Manager at the Dragons and based on all the young talent coming through and playing NRL, it would appear he’s been doing a great job.
Is he someone we could or should poach?

Ryan Carr will be assistant coach next year according to Weidler
Outstanding if true.
He is a real man’s man who does not tolerate softness or bullshit.
I’m not sure if he’s more suited to defence or attack, but his presence will be felt that’s for sure and certain as he is not the type of person who will just sit back and accept mediocrity.

It was your man Richo’s masterstoke appointment of Charmain Steventon as Head of Football for the girls

Is there any truth to the Nanai rumour?

Would be a pretty good signing IMO. Shift Samuela to prop with KPP/Nanai backrow.

Pole, Frizell, Seyfarth & Roberts first choice bench

If the above is true… bring him on

Our last CEO didnt tolerate softness or bullshit, yet you despised him.
Also pretty confident Ryan Carr was supposed to be an offensive minded coach if memory serves me before he went to England via st merge . But yes he is a good choice in my opinion . Guys like Stephen Kearney mentioned seemed silly to me . Ryan is currently coaching in SL , and has been that next level down frol
NRL for a while , and is a career coach , rather than really any of our coaches . All having prosperous playing careers before transitioning .
At the very least he will have a real grass roots appreciation , in a way that our existing coaching staff simply wouldn’t have .
If we make the right choice around the grassroots/ pathways boss , hopefully former coach with a keen eye and proven track record for progressing young talent and identification ..: we should be further along .
