2026 Rugby League World Cup fixtures - October/November

This World Cup is turning out to be a terrible version of touch footy. I have never watched a tournament that is so lopsided and so poor for fans viewing.

Next week onwards should see some competitive games but yesterdays games were a hard watch (didn’t watch all of them)

I’d like the idea of a 4 or 5 nations tournament with Australia, NZ, Tonga, Samoa and England. The other nations could do something similar to build their game
 
Gotta love the Rugby League World Cup, where the World's top League talent is on show.
So far this weekend 36-0, 64-6, 82-0 & 82-16. What's not to love? That's 264 - 22. What would the totals have been if the Tomahawks & Georgia had attended? So far I've been mostly injury-free. I avoided twistopitis, but I noticed after the last match my neck is hurting from facing one direction for 40 minutes at a time. 🍻 🍻 🍻
 
What's the point of the Rugby League World Cup? These scores are out of control, and the games are boring to watch. This has happened consistently over the past 20 years.

They should create a four nations tournament instead, where teams qualify for the top four based on their world ranking.

In another 10 years there will be a difference. Considering grass roots for girls is really only starting to grow now.
While ever they still have to work jobs in the offseason it’ll be a long haul. Once a player plays rep at the end of the season you can see the development of strength, conditioning and general understanding levels rise the following year.
I personally think as a product it will get better and while it’s still on free to air they’ll grow the supporter base

The NRLW is a poor product for mine. I think most SG Ball teams would beat their champion.
SOO is a decent product as it’s a lot more even.
Test footy is a non event as they do not have any opposition.
Their only hope is to grow the NRLW comp and play a proper season. Their current season length is a joke.

The other nations can’t build their game unless they stack their sides with regular NRL standard players.

It's embarrassing for league to call this a world cup. There are only 3 genuine countries that play league-Aust, NZ and Eng. Samoa & Tonga are made up of NRL players.
