I’m confident we are strong in the forwards this season. We have those 3 important players to come into the team and all of our forwards look a bit stronger and more physical this season, particular out younger and emerging players.

I reckon he could play 20-30min stints in NRL right now and he would not look out of place. But with defence being our focus I just think a harder hitting defender will suit us best to interchange with Api in the short term.

No I’m saying if opponents look like beating him for speed he has the long levers to reel them in. I knew he had talent from watching him play for Qld U/19’s last season, but he has far outweighed my expectations so soon.

I think he’s a must selection, his energy will be a bonus leading up to and after halftime and he’s definitely bulked up a bit from last season meaning he is now hitting much harder in defence.

He looks a very strong front on defender, but I haven’t really seen his lateral defence tested. He has a long reach which certainly helps with lateral defence.

Api looked to fatigue very quickly as plenty of players do as they get older. There is no way we can play him for 80mins each week. I’d be happy with Tristan Hope playing 15mins before and after halftime, he plays with high energy and hits hard in defence for a smaller man.

Walsh always makes errors, but more than makes up for it by asking questions of the defence every time he touches the ball.

Plenty of positives, fullback and right centre are our big question marks.

I agree that Javon Andrews is a very classy young player and with his size can skill he has a very high ceiling. But just think how good Latu Fainu would look with the time and space Jock Madden creates for his 5/8. We currently have 5 good halves which is very unlike Wests Tigers.

I’m better to say nothing, but I will say any fullback worth over 900k does not have halves as ineffective as that, not even trials.

Surely Benji can see that Seyfarth struggles in attack when playing on an edge, but when we simplify his role in the middle he’s a very handy player.

Agree that Charlie Murray has looked good. He’s bulked up since last year which appears to have helped him be much better in contract. He has to be very close to our top 17.

He would be on the minimum top 30 wage 150 or 160k wouldn’t he ?

I was one of Starford’s bigger fans a couple of seasons back when he had plenty of critiques. Too many half hearted games have really turned me off him, but let’s hope he comes out tonight and shows us all that he is back to somewhere close to his best.

I think we win tonight which will be good for the morale heading into the 2026 season.

His 2nd stint was much better and he started to show what he is capable of. First time playing amongst NRL players, he will be much better for it.

I don’t know how much he weighs, but I think Christian Taupau-Moors is a lot bigger than what some may think. I’d say he is around 106-110kgs and is not carrying any excess weight, so it’s a very good size for a tall, aggressive and mobile young prop. I think the plan is for him to play plenty...

So we have to hope Starford shows no discomfort from his shoulder injury or Herbert can step on and be at his best. It could be worse, but not ideal.
