‘200 passes every day’

I read this article and Cried.

Sheens expects us to score an extra 8-16 points. Sure we *may* have that in us.

Yet we don't seem to be fixing defence. We cannot pass our way out of our soft as butter defence.

Instead of 200 passes we should be doing 200 tackles! Arrgh Cmon Sheens, coach some defence and not rollout the 2005 gameplan!

Teams are better and more professional now. Old tactics won't work.
What do you think he's got a defence coach for to make the coffee

The most important thing in the game is the ball, you can't win without it.
The game is faster and scoring is as important now as ever.
My main concern is if the error rate will climb to high or not.
My advice to all would be to reduce your salt intake this year because there will be some serious cardiac football coming out of this team...
Exactly.
High Ball movement = high error rate, particularly in the early stages

In season 2005, Wests Tigers only started their winning run to the semis in Round 16.

think Tim said, when the stars n the planets align and Laffranci gets back watch us go

How though? You think they aren't being honest? I believe they are.

Maybe they could throw in things like "we know where we are and all this work means nothing until we get results". I guess that's fair enough and balances things somewhat. Maybe that's what you mean?

Still think those who get uptight about these articles are reading too much into them.

They never address the fact they've been godawful shite for a decade.

Just the usual cliches and platitudes coming into a season so the club can sell memberships.

Anyway I'm not criticising anyone for getting excited. I just don't blame anyone for being put off by it either.

judging from what I saw on Friday, the structures the team are learning and using right now are uncanny to 2010 and 2011. Koroisau looks like a Farah clone the way he looks to drop players under and then throw out the back to the halves. plenty of players in motion and no one is afraid to pass the ball. going to be a very very different football team to the one we had last year.
I got tingles reading this.

Confess this article concerned me a bit for exactly the reason stated above re errors in attack.
Of course I want to see them playing an attractive game, and different to the last few years of tedium, but I still have nightmares of the Benji cutouts to the fourth row on the third tackle.
I do really hope it works out though.

What do you think he's got a defence coach for to make the coffee
and Madge is the Raiders defense coach .2 sugars n milk plz
Totally agreed.
Madge did not much for us in defence at all. Sure an improvement on Cleary/Taylor, but not much. I was hoping that Cayless moving into that position would actually add impact and Oomph to our side. Heck Cayless certainly had it as a player. OK I did not expect structure from Cayless, but I expected Oomph!

Then 2022, we go backwards.

Now we have Furner. Furner isn't Stuart, yet Canberra could still defend under him. I sure hope he can upgrade our defensive structures while Farah hard tackles anyone not putting in effort.

Actually perfect role for Farah, get that next level Agro out of them.

Why is moving the ball a lot playing to "our strengths"? Do they still think we have JAC and Tedesco in the back line?

The only advantage to playing this style is unpredictability which applies to any team.
I Just hope I have the patience, because I can see a lot of dropped ball on the 4th tackle and hand overs killing us for a while before we see sweeping attack across the backs as the rabbits showed us when Reynolds was at his best
