I long for the days when we knew nothing about what went on with the players, coach, who is mates with who etc - I swear the more the fans think they know the more crazy they get.

Yea think they know everything when really they know absolutely nothing

We watched a doco

They are 1 hour long episodes you didn’t even see half of what goes on

add breaks suck,dont they?

Pfft you people watch a documentary and now think you know everything, hey maybe you will become a nrl coach next or maybe a footy player If your young enough, I’m guessing your not cause you seem to be having a mid life crisis is that why your hating on young healthy football players, are you jealous

what train did you come in on?lets not cast desperssions about something you are guessing at 4 a reaction, bye

Well I’m just trying to figure out what has you so mad and insecure that you go out of your way to hate on people you don’t actually know, why not just find a new team since you seem to hate them so much

You dont really get this rugby league fan thing, maybe try the outraged forums

I’m not actually a fan of the west tigers

Half your luck

Maybe maybe not

I feel sorry for Madge but he appears one-dimensional and unable to adapt. Coaching box is full of faceless men. Leadership is non-existent apart from AD. Brooks is not just dumb he is also mute. Zero passion apart from AD (with brief cameos by Lucy and Tamou). Hopefully this doco has been unfairly edited or behaviours are curtailed due to cameras. Good luck Mr Sheens.

Exactly.
We sit in the stand, pay big $$$, come with passion for the jersey and look at what's being served up???

Most have been mentioning why doesn’t the players talk in the sheds, why did they show the rookies mistakes and not other certain players mistakes. Why didn’t they show the reaction to Latrells dirty plays. Brooks didn’t talk or never talks etc etc etc. It’s most likely because they chose to cut/not include those scenes. Someone also mentioned why did they show the clip of the mascot wanting to see Madge? It’s plain obvious we are only shown what the producers wants the general public to see and how they want the documentaries portrayed.

I’m sure a lot here has seen reality tv shows and you get the contestants interviewed after the reality tv series has finished complaining about how they were portrayed, how certain situations wasn’t like how the producers made it out to be. Some people here take this documentary as gospel and make it out like they now know everything, how things are run and what goes on at in the club and make assumptions about players just because of what was decided to be chosen to be shown.

A quote taken from an article published by The Spectator about Netflix documentaries

“Rather than an intelligent and enlightening probe of the subject matter, the house style is to find the most simplistic line possible and then ram it down the viewers’ throats for the next 90 minutes.”

A few things stood out for me
- there seems to be a disconnect between the players. Evident in the dressing sheds and the training footage. Even after the saints game there seemed to be players on the periphery of the celebration
- there is no talk and no enthusiasm in the dressing room
- Madge’s comments on the young blokes in the Titans game were poor. Seemed to be a mindset which is no good when you are building the club around those youngsters
- every speech of Madge had me cringing. It was almost like a foul mouthed teacher talking down to students. There was no engagement of the players or attempts to bring them in
- I am trying to work out what all the people in the coaches box do. Seem to be a lot of yes men and hangers on.

Honestly I would be happy to see Madge, Snoopy and the other hanger onners being asked to pack their bags.

Mbye, BJ, JTJ and a few others can head off as well.

I have seen nothing that shows any relationship between the playing group and the coaching staff.

I don’t think there is any chance of success unless either the coaching staff, or the vast majority of the playing group are changed.

We cant change everybody..Madge particularly with a fresh 2 year contract starting...next year.To change that will cost us over $1mill plus another half mill for the new coach..plus possibly whatever Sheens is on.
Its simply unaffordable to change coach next year,,thanks to the Board who renewed Madges contract b4 a ball was kicked this year(who does that btw...??)and leave us with few options
I actually think both the players AND Madge will benefit significantly from hearing a different and more balanced voice in Sheens next year..it .may save Madges career which wld have almost certainly expired nextyear(or earlier) on nothing changing.
The other voice they;ll hear next year is Hastings, who will genuinely lead this team on field...between he and Douhi there'll be plenty of feedback next year.Tamou will be sitting in the reserves bench, and and Mbye can sit wherever he likes in whatever club colors he chooses.Hes a misfit in this culture, and his laziness is a poor role model
Hopefully all the above will help to switch them on at kickoff and get off to a good start in gamesnext year, which has been a prolific problem in most games this year.
Madge doesnt know how to plug em in at the beginning

Is Madge’s approach a reflection of the club’s expectations? Before he was contracted, the media experts were gushing over a new no nonsense coach with strong discipline as just the thing to kick start WT. I agree, Madge and the playing roster will get a lot from Sheens input. I also think they will get something positive from watching the doco.

It was a great idea if we were winning... but be cause we are not it is fuel for more outrage.
I'd say there is a level of regret now that it is airing - all it has done has convince fans further that that they were right to blame who ever it is that they see is most at fault.

I'm in the minority but I think the doco. is great for the club.
Aussies love an underdog story. I have no doubt we'll gain supporters.

Try attracting elite players to work in THAT environment....thats the big downside IMO
Madge has cavalry coming in Sheens and Hastings,but...

Maybe a coach like Barrett or Cleary who give their players a cuddle would work with these guys but there is definitely a mismatch between the personality of the coach and the team. It looks like we desperately need some hyper competitive to match Madges style and bring the group along with him. Hastings sounds like he’s in that mould. Smith would be perfect. Even Gutho or Mitchell Moses would probably suit his style (vomit). Brooks 10000% doesn’t look like someone who would fit into what Madge wants

Yes good points. Their seems a real disconnect. Every aspect of the team dynamic seems forced.

Im not so sure, Madge has that side of him also.

This all boils down to the players attitudes and effort.

The squad needs to continue to evolve.

I’ve seen 1 and half of part 2, and I have to agree, the players and support staff seem just as stilted in the sheds as they do on the park.

I don't know how anyone can hate on Madge after watching that. He was fantastic.

I think we need to get a better team on the park but I'm not confident for next year.
