‘It’s the truth’: compelling new WT doco

Anyone else care to share what they thought of the ending ?

The weird picture of Madge at the press conference, black and white...
Then kinda fades to an empty chair.

Absolutely stupid IMO.

It was a great idea if we were winning... but be cause we are not it is fuel for more outrage.
I'd say there is a level of regret now that it is airing - all it has done has convince fans further that that they were right to blame who ever it is that they see is most at fault.

We whinge we would like more inside footage of the club we whinged when we got inside footage of the club.

A few things stood out for me
- there seems to be a disconnect between the players. Evident in the dressing sheds and the training footage. Even after the saints game there seemed to be players on the periphery of the celebration
- there is no talk and no enthusiasm in the dressing room
- Madge’s comments on the young blokes in the Titans game were poor. Seemed to be a mindset which is no good when you are building the club around those youngsters
- every speech of Madge had me cringing. It was almost like a foul mouthed teacher talking down to students. There was no engagement of the players or attempts to bring them in
- I am trying to work out what all the people in the coaches box do. Seem to be a lot of yes men and hangers on.

Honestly I would be happy to see Madge, Snoopy and the other hanger onners being asked to pack their bags.

Mbye, BJ, JTJ and a few others can head off as well.

I have seen nothing that shows any relationship between the playing group and the coaching staff.

I don’t think there is any chance of success unless either the coaching staff, or the vast majority of the playing group are changed.

Yes good points. Their seems a real disconnect. Every aspect of the team dynamic seems forced.

I’ve seen 1 and half of part 2, and I have to agree, the players and support staff seem just as stilted in the sheds as they do on the park.

What he say about young players?

The biggest concerns I have after watching the docco last night are:

There seems to be absolutely zero input from Tamou in the sheds or on the field, I mean not a single word constructive or otherwise. Some leaders lead by pumping up their team when the team is down, some are quiet vocally and lead by example, sadly he appears to do neither. Not once is he heard during the halftime huddle firing up his teammates, not once is he heard in the team huddle post opposition points being scored. The only players heard at all are Luc and AD.

The assistant coaches seem like absolute nuffs with the greatest respect. Not a single word nor emotion from them in either episode. What is it they actually do apart from holding a note pad/clipboard and put a few squiggles on the page. Not once does anyone in the coaches box offer Madge any valuable insight or idea. Clearly there's a glaring issue right there.

Far too many players in the team are more interested in their Insta persona then actually ripping and tearing for this team. I've said it before and will say it again, you have to earn the right to showboat around like a baller and tbf you don't see the great players from the most successful clubs doing it anyway.

I honestly think Madge is the man to lead the team into the future, his passion cannot be questioned. He will bleed for this team, he just needs the right support around him to do so.

Poor Dwyer...

Just clicking away on the mouse.
Doesn't seem to actually say or do anything.

The other guys are just hanging out, appear to be doing nothing.

Badger gets excited in there but looks like he rides a bike to the coffee shop. Not sure what the adds.

Hopefully Fonzi puts a broom through the place and brings in some heavy hitters.

All coaches want to win - their survival depends on it. That is not the same for players, and if you have too many in your squad happy to hang with their mates and wait for the next coach, or till their manager gets them a better deal somewhere else then that's who we will always be.
Maguire may be the man to break that cycle or not but at some point the club has to back a coach and stick to it or it will continue to be money for jam at this club.

Tend to agree with the assistant should be some compromise I'd keep snoop and get rid of the knome looking guy.

Don't see it happening madge seems a very loyal bloke.

I reckon if you sat Madge in there with 4 cardboard cutouts of random people he'd get more of a response. Not sure if it's due to them being very anxious that the cameras are on them or it's just them in general but concerning all the same.

I am all in on Madge.

No other available coach could do more to teach and motivate that squad.

This is my opinion that im going to stand by from now on

Keep Madge

Sack millard and wayne...we need new attack and defence options

Did anyone else see red when they interviewed Mbye? The laughing and laid back attitude killed me.

What really annoyed me about that is that Mbye didn’t take any responsibility at all, Madge was a busy guy. Not I should be putting in and helping with the young blokes, it’s all someone else’s responsibility.

I think those concerned by not hearing Tamou or the assistants talk need to consider that there is a lot of editing going on to focus on Madge.

I'm sure the producers aren't looking to put focus on the assistants.

It's all a bit fluffy.

Doueihi (c) and Lucy (v-c).

Complete absence of leadership otherwise.

Just a question … while our fearless leader is on the bench who’s captain then ??

I asked the same question in the Discord channel. Apparently it's Brooks for the 55-60 minutes Tamou is off the field per game.

I long for the days when we knew nothing about what went on with the players, coach, who is mates with who etc - I swear the more the fans think they know the more crazy they get.

Yea think they know everything when really they know absolutely nothing

We watched a doco

They are 1 hour long episodes you didn’t even see half of what goes on

add breaks suck,dont they?

Pfft you people watch a documentary and now think you know everything, hey maybe you will become a nrl coach next or maybe a footy player If your young enough, I’m guessing your not cause you seem to be having a mid life crisis is that why your hating on young healthy football players, are you jealous

what train did you come in on?lets not cast desperssions about something you are guessing at 4 a reaction, bye

Well I’m just trying to figure out what has you so mad and insecure that you go out of your way to hate on people you don’t actually know, why not just find a new team since you seem to hate them so much

You dont really get this rugby league fan thing, maybe try the outraged forums

I’m not actually a fan of the west tigers

I actually laughed when he said Madge is like a father to a lot of the boys.
He certainly is to you Moses.

Honestly he seems to have a very specific role in the box. He appears to be running the video that the coaches are watching on their tablets, cueing replays etc. At one point towards the end of last nights ep Madge asked to see something again and Dwyer seemed to set that up.
