‘It’s the truth’: compelling new WT doco

It’s terrible timing. A documentary series about an irrelevant team running 14th….

I’d usually be so pumped for something like this. But my enthusiasm is pretty much at an all time low (although results aside, I think the fact we’ve played once in the past 3 weeks is a big factor in that).

We have had a tough 4 games and was always expected to lose them but we won 1.. We need to beat broncos as this is a line in the sand game for us. We win and it help morale of not just team but fans.
With regards to the Doco I think if they knew how tough the season would have panned out they may have pushed back a year because I was thinking we had a shot of scraping into the 8... Imagine if we did have a good year and made finals it would be like a fairytale story.. Need to sign TPJ before Mondays airing

Interview with Madge.
His determination and drive to see the club succeed has always seemed genuine.
I've never been able to fault him there. Interesting to see if this doco reinforces that.
I'm looking forward to watching it.
The fact I'm on the fan forum means my appetite for WT content is borderline unhealthy, doco cant be any more of a train wreck than a number of our weekly 80min TV appearances this season have been.

I showed a few of my family members that we have a doco coming out next week..

Lets just say, as part time Wests Tigers fans - they weren't too keen on it..

Guys I work with were in stitches, all think it’s going to be hilarious

Who do they support? There would be another 5 or 6 clubs whose doco would be just as hilarious as ours I'd reckon.

Mostly Panthers and Eels
But one is a Broncs supporter and is always quick to put the boot into us ? god **I hope we beat them this week.**

Wadda ya mean?, "Wests Tigers are always in the -------- game."

The new clip Fox just put out this afternoon with Madge talking to the guys looks good. Maybe just Maybe it might help if people see the soft side of Madge as that was raw emotion..

Just a theory on this....

It's a Foxsports production....

Maybe they wanted to do a behind the scenes NRL doco and Tigers were the best option, team wise.

Everyone's second favourite team.
We're not unliked like a lot of other teams.

It's unfortunate It's during a pretty poor season but it's not exactly for us Tigers fans but for the rugby league community as a whole.

Thoughts?

I agree Demps - also worth considering.

By the time this is all thought up and put into action the season probably wouldn't have started. At the time, with the signings we had made - even the Forum thought, we would make the eight. So the season has turned out not as good as everyone thought, thems are the breaks. If you wait until we are going to have a good season, it will be more than half over and too late for filming.

It is interesting you know Demps - Tigers post positive articles on line and half the Forum say "more fluff pieces - give us a break" etc. etc. Have an in depth program done on the club and half the Forum complain everyone will see us as a joke.

The Tigers Club just cannot win.

Short snippet of the doco on NRL360 of Madge in round 1 telling the coaching staff on the field that they needed to tell the ref to stop the play for a clearly injured player (Stefano maybe?). Long story short, communication was lost or misunderstood and Raiders rolled us down the field to score.

Not a great look, though Madge knew what was up in his defence, but unfortunately was a shipwreck in slow motion with coaching staff on the field not relaying or obeying the message

Looks well put together though

the snippet looked good Madge was yelling at Snoopy Collins to get out and stop the game, that was game 1, maybe Madge is surrounded by incompetence in his ranks after seeing that.
Also Hadley was saying that Sheens will be doing a full review of the club was advised by Lee apparently
interesting times ahead

He should start with the Board and Lee, but they are probably out of scope

If you look at the trainer ....guessing it was Collins ...was running towards the touchie ...but doesn't make it ......

I suspect allowing Fox to produce this has something to do with the more favourable (or less harsh) treatment that we’re getting from News Ltd compared to prior years.

Hey guys question how to wests tigers survive financially with Wests Ashfield in lock down won’t lock downs have significant impact on pokie based clubs ?

Wonder what the commercial terms were?

Because Wests Tigers revenue from sponsorship, corporate backing, ground deals, membership, merchandise Wests Tigers foundation etc cover the additional operating cost on top of the NRL grant.. Wests Ashfield only kick in a short fall in revenue over costs..the last 5 years WT have been close to self sufficient meaning they don’t rely on Leagues Club grants as much

Yes COVID will effect that but WT are in a better position to handle it..All Clubs though are in the same canoe..

This is the one area I give Pascoe the ? up! This is a huge achievement making our club self sufficient especially in the Sydney market as many other clubs would be envious to be in this situation .
The next step is to have on field success hopefully soon .

This doco is huge for the club .. the exposure the club will get you could not buy it ..I think Pascoe was the driving force? If so well done ..

I was extremely anti Pascoe a number of years ago but he really has righted the ship financially, got the COE up and running, the increased spending in Pathways is due to the financial position the club is now in. He has plans to build an Academy out in the Macarthur region.

Not been a fan myself but it is a significant achievement not be to be understated !

I'm more nervous about the first episode of the documentary than I was for the game yesterday.
Hope it doesn't feed the media's lust for "poor culture" rubbish stories.

Anyone tech-savvy enough to upload these eps for us NZ-based fans?

I had Kayo up until they blocked VPNs completely.

Can try WatchNrl but not sure they're streaming this.
