Yea me too . But they are paying overs galore man . TPJ is like 150k more than we offered .

Where did you get this information? There has been no indication anywhere that we offered more for TPJ. There is also no indication JAC signed for more than what we offered him.

is there a member of the tigers organisation that you like mate? geniunely curious

Is it not a fair question? why are we assuming we offered less?

To answer your question: Sheens, Hartigan, Betsey, Laurie, Stefano, AD, Simpkin, Simpkins. Supporting a team doesn't mean you have to like every player/staff member in it.

By some of the comments on here you'd think we were a top 4 team.

I dont disagree with you mate and thats a good selection, you literally just shit on the club all the time and i was interested to see if you saw any positives.

I kind of agree there is no untouchables imo.

Apart from those mentioned, not really. I do shit on the club all the time because i'm tired of excuses and tired of losing. In a competition with a salary cap we haven't finished in the top half of the competition once in the last decade. If that doesn't want you to shit on the club, I don't know what does.

And look, I like the young guys we've signed and I think Hartigan does a good job identifying talent. But I think he's badly let down by those around him. Just my opinion.

Who’s the geezer in the box with black hair ( not Dwyer)

Ron Griffiths, the fella on the phone.. not caring one bit at all, pathetic man..

So what’s his offical role ?
Besides placing bets on the phone ?

indigenous pathways I believe. hugely respected.

doubt he was betting

Here may lie our problems ?

why?

Cause he might be onto TPJ’s manager on that phone in the doco … LOLs

It just goes to show what we all know that the playing group is mentally fragile.. no amount of coaching can in-still that into individuals..

No matter how talented or skilful… Mentality comes from within.. no words can unlock it.. you can become resilient but only do it yourself.

It’s a generational thing IMO.. everyone gets a ribbon..

Agreed.

Bulk respect for Madge after Episode 1. It’s clear that he’s an intellect and a good bloke who’s unfortunately surrounded by buffoons like Pascoe, Palmer and the majority of the playing group.

We need to trust his process, and invest in better support staff around him.

What has Ronnie Palmer done wrong ......

A bunch of people seem to be watching the doco as if it's their embarrassing uncle or their Dad doing his impression of Elvis Presley on tape... so easily triggered.

It's obviously only a fraction of what really goes on, just a little bit of an insight. It may expand in future episodes, but really the only unedited coverage in Ep 1 is Madge himself, everyone else is safely hidden away, filmed only in the safe moments. E.g. they follow Pascoe around the day the Tigers win. Ronny Palmer basically runs behind the posts and tells the boys to breathe and chin up. Only Madge is truly unfiltered, truly captured having to perform in difficult moments.

The Ronnie to pathways thing , might be an interesting one . I wonder if it will get some time , with the prodigal son returning to run the water .

The most worrying thing I saw was how Madge was constantly relaying messages to tell the team to push up in defence, push up in attack to support , etc.
All basic things I don't understand why this needs to be constantly drummed into them.
Seems to me we need a strong , vocal leader in our forward pack.

Right...... seriously, kids get that sort of thing, up in defence, pressure on kicker etc etc drummed into them constantly from when they're little tackers.

Do first graders really need the coach to remind them to move up in a line, pressure the play makers, slide if you need to... etc - therein lies our problem probably - I wonder if Bellamy and Robinson for example sit there constantly relating messages to move up in defence.....

Thought that was very underwhelming.

Specsavers for me tomorrow - I thought you typed "I saw the porn in episode 1"

So how many times did you rewatch it hoping to catch what you thought you had missed

No point, they didn't film behind Pascoe's desk

Agreed with most of this. It’s not a real salary cap though , and it doesn’t have a draft . I’ll say this again , we are the only elite sport in the world with a salary cap , and no draft . There’s no real dispersion of talent , and up until 3 years ago , some teams operating budget for “juniors” **cough** roosters, **cough** storm , should hurt your head . Ryan Hoffman and Greg Inglis , both got 150k before playing u20s.

And it’s a reputation thing now , like aboriginal kids all wanting to wear maroon . Which Lattrell spoke about why he loves the blue jersey recently .

And the panthers were smart in picking an SG ball team , and basically funnelling that team to first grade .

We had some dopes / selfish people running the joint , and I’m not sure they’re all gone yet . But we are getting there .
And I’ve said this to you before , but it’s far better to focus on hope than it is on the crappy past . But that’s up to you man . If you want to roll around in yesterday’s muck, that’s your right to do so.

After watching the documentary these were my thoughts.

1. Pascoe not dressing like a CEO - yes I went there, no idea what happens on game day, except for the business process of things (yes its his job, but atleast know RUGBY LEAGUE)... seems like the light is shown on him quite alot on this episode.

2. Ron Griffiths (Assistant Coach), at the back of the coaches box on his phone - which seemed to be all game - honestly should be a no phone policy.

3. The players just seem like they do not care, some of the scenes have them looking around the change room while Madge is talking - but you can see the people that care in the team looking at him.

4. Showing members that obviously have alot of money and support the club financially - just show ALL members.

overall, I didn't mind it - but I even know that you need professionalism in the small things such as no phones on camera, have your eyes onto the boss when talking and all of that..

anyway, we'll see next week how it is - at this stage the media havent really said too much of it.

Just finished watching it. Quite enjoyed it.
Good quality production and it is nice to see that it is presented straight down the middle.
Pretty clear Madge is hugely invested while some of his players lack basic commitment to doing their job.

While I liked it, it was a bit too much of a YouTube reactions video for me. I would have liked to have seen more in-depth look at training leading into the game, looking at video sessions etc. Maybe the hard discussions between a player and coach. It was a little too focused on gameday for me. I was hoping for a little more gritty like NFL Hard Knocks.

Yea as others have said i think that may happen when we move in to our mid season capitulations.

Oh my god I can't believe people are so obsessed with pascoes wardrobe

Just because he's a CEO doesn't mean he should be in a suit the whole time. He was dressed fine, he just has a crap haircut lol. He's allowed to wear casual clothes when he's not at work

Its ridiculous isn't it - no pleasing the PC brigade. They will find fault in anything.

The saying goes "Don't judge a book by it's cover"

Not that you should judge anyone - but if you do, judge Pascoe on his achievements and his failures, not on what he is wearing or on his haircut.

Far as I can see his only failures were "The Farah Fiasco" and "Hiring the Traitor" - who new that would happen. Cleary sucked in 90%+ just on the Forum alone.

On the other hand, add all the achievements Pascoe has since he as been CEO and the scales say he is a big winner.

"Pascoe has to go" some say - get a life, start bagging the people NOT pulling their weight - you have plenty to choose from.

Of course it is. Flanagan has enough black marks - he should never have been let back into the RL community. Scumbag!

I'm rolling around in today's muck.

Ok , if you say so . I follow the Mariners in baseball , and last year was supposed to be thier break out challenge for the pennant . They went ok but still had a losing record . This year they’re 50 and 43 and in the hunt for the playoffs .

Same for the browns . The year before last , they were tipped by some for the title . They won 6 games . Last year they won 11 games and made the second round of the playoffs . And are hot contenders to be playing on that Monday in January we all call in sick for .
My point is , that we all got our hopes up this year , but maybe we went a year early . There’s a lot of hope in this team , and talking about The Pascoe debacle , Farah knifing Potter , benji sooking again , bad roster management ,Reynolds , Packer . I mean for me it’s water under the bridge .

Hope springs eternal for me . And just think how good these convos will be in a couple of years when we hoist the trophy that first weekend in October .
Once covid goes , we can all head to Wests leagues or wherever and really celebrate .
The highest of highs , can only ever be because they were usually preceded by the lowest of lows.

Keep the faith mate !! The ship is turning !!
