Tamou was the biggest mistake made by Tigers. Average player at best, not a leader ( at Penrith he was surrounded by 4 co captains) as he is a mute. Made captain without having played for the Tigers. Plays average of 20 mins per game.Picking up his super pension.
Captainacy is so important, especially with a young roster in a team, as they are the on field voice of the coach and tactics.
Madge , I assume made decision to appoint Tamou captain and has to live with that decision and resulting failures of on field results.
I would have had LL captain this season. He is vocal, plays 80 minutes and always leads by example. AD no doubt is a future captain of the Tigers.

Even when Tamou hasn't played they have had Brooks as captain and he is clearly not captain material in any way, shape or form. How Doueihi wasn't made captain instead of Brooks is absolutely astounding TBH. Douiehi better have the C beside his name next season or we are going nowhere as far as inspirational on-field leadership is concerned.

He needs to consolidate his own position 1st.

It's lucky Madge isn't a forum member.
He'd be banned in the first hour with his potty mouth.

My take on it is he'd be like a cultural ambassador who has the skills to work in both communities as an intermediary. The Coaching Assistant bit would relate to being attuned to some of the cross cultural issues that may arise from young blokes being away from clan and family.

Surely AD is the first bloke picked every week (along with Laurie). He needs to be our captain regardless of what position he plays IMO. I'd say he'd be the on-field leader regardless of whether he is our captain or not but it should be made official. Tamou and Mbye are mannequins out there, zero leadership, heart or desire.

I just want his attention on becoming a better 5/8th

Some uncomfortable parallels here

That's my eldest in the photo. Still Wests Tigers to his core (like his siblings and the whole clan!)

I just watched it and you know what? It is riveting. When Madge told them that they had only beaten St George! WoW! No respect for them at all! I am enjoying these insights - Does that mean I am a masochist?

Maybe a coach like Barrett or Cleary who give their players a cuddle would work with these guys but there is definitely a mismatch between the personality of the coach and the team. It looks like we desperately need some hyper competitive to match Madges style and bring the group along with him. Hastings sounds like he’s in that mould. Smith would be perfect. Even Gutho or Mitchell Moses would probably suit his style (vomit). Brooks 10000% doesn’t look like someone who would fit into what Madge wants

Im not so sure, Madge has that side of him also.

This all boils down to the players attitudes and effort.

The squad needs to continue to evolve.

Too many moving on and over it , the others are in their comfort zone because they’re safe

If you are you’re not on your Pat Malone.

All coaches want to win - their survival depends on it. That is not the same for players, and if you have too many in your squad happy to hang with their mates and wait for the next coach, or till their manager gets them a better deal somewhere else then that's who we will always be.
Maguire may be the man to break that cycle or not but at some point the club has to back a coach and stick to it or it will continue to be money for jam at this club.

Love that quote, money for jam, sums up the club very well

The biggest concerns I have after watching the docco last night are:

There seems to be absolutely zero input from Tamou in the sheds or on the field, I mean not a single word constructive or otherwise. Some leaders lead by pumping up their team when the team is down, some are quiet vocally and lead by example, sadly he appears to do neither. Not once is he heard during the halftime huddle firing up his teammates, not once is he heard in the team huddle post opposition points being scored. The only players heard at all are Luc and AD.

The assistant coaches seem like absolute nuffs with the greatest respect. Not a single word nor emotion from them in either episode. What is it they actually do apart from holding a note pad/clipboard and put a few squiggles on the page. Not once does anyone in the coaches box offer Madge any valuable insight or idea. Clearly there's a glaring issue right there.

Far too many players in the team are more interested in their Insta persona then actually ripping and tearing for this team. I've said it before and will say it again, you have to earn the right to showboat around like a baller and tbf you don't see the great players from the most successful clubs doing it anyway.

I honestly think Madge is the man to lead the team into the future, his passion cannot be questioned. He will bleed for this team, he just needs the right support around him to do so.

Poor Dwyer...

Just clicking away on the mouse.
Doesn't seem to actually say or do anything.

The other guys are just hanging out, appear to be doing nothing.

Badger gets excited in there but looks like he rides a bike to the coffee shop. Not sure what the adds.

Hopefully Fonzi puts a broom through the place and brings in some heavy hitters.

I reckon if you sat Madge in there with 4 cardboard cutouts of random people he'd get more of a response. Not sure if it's due to them being very anxious that the cameras are on them or it's just them in general but concerning all the same.

If I am sitting there they probably have to edit out everything single thing I say during most Tigers games, that could be it.

It's a very pro-Madge kind of documentary lol. His speeches and effort to try change the rotten culture at the club is great

Unfortunately his team selections and on field game plans and tactics have been bad. Being a head coach is more than just speeches in the sheds.

Don't let the doco convince you he's been a smart coach this year.

Did anyone else see red when they interviewed Mbye? The laughing and laid back attitude killed me.

What really annoyed me about that is that Mbye didn’t take any responsibility at all, Madge was a busy guy. Not I should be putting in and helping with the young blokes, it’s all someone else’s responsibility.

That line sums up mbye. Just flaps his gums and says positive stuff for no apparent reason. Who cares how busy the coach is or how he has a young family, so do the fans. we want to hear something you’re adding at the club or what you think Madge adds. When you waffle on you just look like a fraud.

I long for the days when we knew nothing about what went on with the players, coach, who is mates with who etc - I swear the more the fans think they know the more crazy they get.

Yea think they know everything when really they know absolutely nothing

We watched a doco

They are 1 hour long episodes you didn’t even see half of what goes on

add breaks suck,dont they?

Pfft you people watch a documentary and now think you know everything, hey maybe you will become a nrl coach next or maybe a footy player If your young enough, I’m guessing your not cause you seem to be having a mid life crisis is that why your hating on young healthy football players, are you jealous

what train did you come in on?lets not cast desperssions about something you are guessing at 4 a reaction, bye

Well I’m just trying to figure out what has you so mad and insecure that you go out of your way to hate on people you don’t actually know, why not just find a new team since you seem to hate them so much

You dont really get this rugby league fan thing, maybe try the outraged forums

I’m not actually a fan of the west tigers

Then why are you here?

Felt like talking to some insecure people ??

No other available coach could do more to teach and motivate that squad.

This is my opinion that im going to stand by from now on

Keep Madge

Sack millard and wayne...we need new attack and defence options

What do you think of Simon Dwyers position?

Idk

But he must be teaching stefano how to run it str8 cause he has been on fire

Needs to do some extensive work with Noff the n
