is this the equal lowest the WTs have ever been on the ladder?

2013 was the worst season on record, this however, is the second worst season.

From 2004-2012 we were a respectable football club given our lack of financial strength. Sheens did not get the credit he deserved for holding the club to some form of respectability over that period.

The biggest concern is this year we have the 3rd lowest crowds in the teams history along with Balmain in Administration.

And Sheens was able to do this how? - By back ending contracts that has led to this financially crippling situation we are in now. Yeah, great job Sheensy!

Disagree statistic dont tell the whole story our injuries were huge in 2013.

This year by far the worst year for the WT.
Worst coach
Worst position on Ladder
Worst disrespect for loyal players
Worst management (CEO quits)
Worst JV year (Balmain unfinancial)

What is so funny about some of the claims in this thread , is that ALL of the teams outside the 8 are probably posting the same excuses. "If we didn't give that penalty in game Three, we'd be in 4th position"
If only we didn't let 5 tries in in round 2 we be just a tad off position 10.
It's ludicrous, all the "ifs", " buts", and" should'ves", mean nothing , except to those who are in denial 0f just how bad this year was.
They are probably the same ones , who will praise the massive revival next year if we manage to scrape into 10th spot ,
"WowGuys, look how much we've improved"they'll scream,
"WE've cracked tenth position" !!!!

We are on equal points with the team that got the Spoon.( and they beat us twice) !!!!!!!!!
Suck it up guys and face reality instead of trying to sugarcoat it

You do accept mediocrity bud and you have argued with members all year defending it.

what does it mean by "accept mediocrity" ?

how do i unaccept mediocrity?

i dont want us to be coming 15/14/11th etc.. i want us to be in top 4 every year- tell me what i have to accept, what do i have to do, what do i have to say for us to be there?

EDIT: i know you're not referring to me and not having a go at you, but i have seen this phrase thrown about a lot for people who let's say 'have a positive attitude'

i would argue the tigers are different.

disregard all the ifs and buts. on point difference we are also 11th IIRC.

obviously points are more important, so im not arguing against that but as far as points conceded and points scored for the season as a whole we were well ahead of 2013 and 2014.

no point in being better as far as points for and against when in the bottom 8, it only makes a difference as to who gets a fictitious trophy,

it changes nothing , especially as the team who got the spoon , beat us both times. (and they didn't beat anyone in the 11 weeks since their first win over us).
Sort of says a lot about where we are.
But if it makes some feel better to jiggle the numbers to make us look better, that's ok.
My biggest worry is there's been absolutely nothing to suggest we'll be any better next year.

Why do so many make such a hoopla about it then…when we didn't get it there is still the hoopla..

We were crap all year…..can't sugar coat anything .

The ifs , buts , maybes , should of , could of , would of......we were equal last full stop.

im not talking about the wooden spoon.

2013 Points Conceded = 687, Points Scored = 386
2014 Points Conceded = 631, Points Scored = 420
2015 Points Conceded = 562, Points Scored = 487

and yes, the team with the spoon beat us both teams. we also beat south sydney, melbourne, dogs and dragons. all top 8 teams. doesnt really mean that much.

defence is improving, attack is improving. on point difference we're definitely improving.

if you want you can actually statistically analyse results of a season to rank teams based on the number of games we 'should' have won. obviously youll trash talk that because its all about what ifs, clearly every position on the ladder every year is indiciative of how that team performed. there's no luck in sports.

but for anyone else who's interested https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_expectation

we're 11th if you apply that to the 2015 ladder.

edit: saw this interested stat for the NFL - "From 1988 through 2004, 11 of 16 Super Bowls were won by the team that led the NFL in Pythagorean wins, while only seven were won by the team with the most actual victories. Super Bowl champions that led the league in Pythagorean wins but not actual wins include the 2004 Patriots, 2000 Ravens, 1999 Rams and 1997 Broncos."

We won by Pythagoras….I love it...

Now if you add in Full Moon wins we be playing next week..

mock it all you want, its a better predictor of NFL champions than actual wins. :unamused:

This season

Sorry, but we were a crap team and if Pythagoros had played for us we would still have been a crap team
If were 0.0052 % better on the first Saturday of every month during the 2001 season. It has no bearing on next season.
Unless some of our players play better, and our coaches coach better, we will still be a crap team.
But grab another straw if it makes you feel better.

Pythagoras.. Lol

I reckon JT and Robbie has the makings of a cracking Shakespearean melodrama

"go now… But for your not wanted here "

Well, Well!
Now half the Forum get berated for being positive.
It is not all about numbers and position on the ladder all the time.

If the other half of the Forum "the negative" side choose to cry in their beers or slash their wrists because the WT are so bad, have the worst coach in the NRL, worst administration and half the team are plodders - good on you, that is your opinion.
Why are you constantly trying to tell the "positive" side of the Forum we should think like you? That we accept mediocrity, that we don't know what we are talking about, that we can't see what everyone with any sense can see - we are hopeless!!!

You people want to get a grip - you have been crying on here all season - if it's not the plodders, it's the coach, it's…..

We can all see their are problems - if I give reasons, you say they are excuses (like having no money).
However you come up with great ideas like - Buy Bellamy or Hasler - WHAT WITH!!!
Buy a first class experienced centre and back rower - WHAT WITH!!!!
Whilst we, say you "accept mediocrity" - you are "Living in a dream world" - all pie in the sky stuff.
I say - if you peeps can't see any improvement in the team as a whole, in some of the young players we have, the administration of the club and the S and C crew there is something wrong with the way you are viewing the game.

Trouble is you want the pie but you want it now.
