15 Years, 5 coaches, 2 Finals, 1 Premiership

One more premiership than Cronulla or North Queensland. Or Parramatta in that time period. Or the Gold Coast for that matter. Could be worse I guess.

If the team cannot carry out the most simple of game plans - 5 tackles and a kick.

Until they get that right - he will not move on. Not rocket science - how thick are these forwards.

How full is cronulla's trophy cabinet. They have been trying since 1967.

In comparison,we are going okay- not great ,but okay.

I believe out of all clubs in the NRL in the past 15 years, we have the worst record of all in terms of making the top 8.

It would say that is not OK, in fact it is diabolical.

Finishing 8th in a 16 team competition isn't even a high achievement, yet we still haven't managed it more than three times inn our existence.

Carlton have lost patience with one of the greatest ever AFL coaches. Is it a portent for WT?

Mick Malthouse sacked by Carlton, club meeting called after explosive radio interview
Updated 34 minutes ago

Carlton has sacked coach Mick Malthouse after a meeting between club directors and executives on Tuesday afternoon. The club has announced a press conference with president Mark LoGiudice and chief executive Steven Trigg at 4.15pm (AEST) when they are expected to comment on the decision.

Malthouse joined the club in 2013 after stints with Footscray, West Coast and Collingwood, and only weeks ago broke the record for most senior AFL/VFL games coached. The 2014 season, however, was a big disappointment, as Carlton finished 13th with a record of seven wins, 15 losses.

Carlton has endured a horrible start to the 2015 season, winning only one game from the opening eight rounds to leave it sitting at the foot of the AFL ladder. Malthouse's record in 2015 is his worst in 30 years as an AFL coach. He was contracted until the end of this season, but the board moved to sack him with 14 games still to play.

Yeah it's sad to see this happening to a once great AFL club. It must be desperate times if one of the best can't do anything with the team. Carlton are looking a lot like our mob at present, which doesn't bode well for me, as I support both of them :unamused:

hopefully sos can get the draft right for us.
both tigers and blues have been terrible in recruitment.
and terrible in defense

with both teams i just fast forward through the games.
nothing enjoyable about either team with alot of over rated players with negative game plans by the coaches.

I don't think Potter was given the time, nor the power to do what was needed to repair the damage of the back end of Sheens reign

And it's only been 11 rounds for JT

JT has though been the worst coach in the initial period that we have ever had. I have never seen such an inept start to the season with regards to getting the least possible out of our players.

Are you really David Fa'alogo - your hatred of JT suggests you might be.

At least we don't support manly.

Things can always be worse.

the worst start? really?

2013…...........8 losses by this time, including some slaughters

2012 we had 5 losses in the first 7 rounds

By this time in 2011, 2012 and 2014 we had 5 wins..........only 1 more than now

2009 we had 6 losses by this time

Surely losing these games (and getting smacked in a few) is also getting the least possible out of our players?

This has to be opinion based because its based on an assessment of where we should be based on the talent that we have and how we have been playing.

I think we have been performing well below where we should be. The effort and execution is the worst I've ever seen.

Definitely opinion based, I think the effort is there, the execution is not.

There's been lots of games in prior years where we've just given up or just didn't seem interested to begin with, haven't really seen that this year. Certainly execution way off.

Had we actually won the games against the Dogs first up and the Raiders, would people be thinking differently about the coach and the team?

It's been half a decade since I made this thread, I've updated the title, I wonder if the last 15 years have taught us anything (at all) and what further changes we need to be making as an organisation.

Cause it ain't working chief.

Thank God you resurrected this thread. I have been lost for an opportunity to ***lament*** the condition of the Tigers or generally bleat and moan about our lack of success.

If it makes you feel better, I only turn up twice a decade.

I'm like the clap.
