He was on 2SM this arvo talkin about it.
It will be late when the teams named, they have injury concerns…"Players are hiding things" his words.
The other teams GB NZ ...unsure on PNG, are having warm up games, Aussies arent, extra training to cover.
The players I gathered from his tone are the WTs guys, he mentioned, Boyd, Hayne & Lewis in the centers
Mentioned Benji got injured in this last year, shoulder

Pomsaint, James Graham will be good if he does not start to throw a paddy if everything does not go his own way. Sorry how is kevin Brown not international standard? He has been fantastic this year and you know it. I did not say Lunt wasnt did i? He played most of his academy days for Castleford by the way
Anyway us English have to stick together so in other words you Australians better watch out as i think your going to be suprised.

I think the Aussies will have a tough tournament this year. The poms and kiwis have picked powerful squads….the english forwards are devastating and without Thurston and Ingliss, our backline will be significantly weakened.

We may be the underdogs for a change.

I agree any of the teams could win it well maybe not PNG, it will be a close competition. People need to realise Australia are beatable and that they do not just have to turn up to win. Especially with the amount of home grown players who play in the ESL which is/will improve England and improve international rugby league.

2 things here

We need to allow guys to players for the smaller developing nations.

I hate it when people like Hunt, Teo and Uarte (Newcastle Winger) etc who are of Kiwi heritage play for Origin.

I don't like the residency stuff… In a few years will Sm Burgess play for NSW

What do we do guys???

With Morley being ruled out due to injury does anyone think Ellis has a shot at captaining England?

I do!

in my opinion he is the only one in the squad with enough experience and knowledge to lead them around the park. unless they go with fielden as but he was named on the bench on the weekend so who knows

I dont have a problem with blokes of tongan, samoan or fijian heritage wishing to represent those countries and then playing origin. The inclusion of these players can only strengthen international rugby league and in my opinion it doesnt take away from origin. However if Kiwis and Poms are allowed into origin then yes that will be a problem. The only examples i can think of are tony carrol playing for new zealand then australia and qld, and brad thorn playing origin for qld and rugby for the all blacks.
As for the smaller nations, let them play

That idiot Carr is attempting to block Israel Falou from running the water for Samoa on the Weekend…

He must be the biggest idiot in the ARL!

Newsflash Carr Crackers - Pay the Rep Players More and they wont change codes or go overseas...

Whilst I don't see how he has the right to stop Falou from running water, I think it is fair enough.

He decided to puruse another path - we can't continue to have him assoicated with our game anymore.

I do!

Agreed, Ellis would make a good captain, his experience, ability to last the whole game and stature amongst his team mates would make him a good choice.

Geeze we could well be fielding the weakest backline in decades….Good chance for the debs but they are going to do it real tough.
