sounds great will think of getting the LO package, does anyone have any ideas on when we find out what days the games are on as I can't do monday or friday night games because of work and I dont want to buy the membership and find out I cant go to half or all of the games..

5 weeks before the round. So for round 26 we''ll know by round 21 (late July- early Aug)

I like the idea of the Stripes package not fussed on season tickets with Sheens as coach stopped a few years ago! Always wanted to support the club in some way so about 6 of those packages i guess, good move by the club.

EXTRA GAMES AT CAMPBELLTOWN AND LEICHHARDT
Wednesday, 28 October 2009

Wests Tigers has today announced it will play more games at each of its traditional home venues in the 2010 Telstra Premiership.

CEO Stephen Humphreys said four matches will be played at Campbelltown Sports Stadium (up from three matches in 2009), four at Leichhardt Oval (up from three matches in 2009), and four at the Sydney Football Stadium/Sydney Cricket Ground (down from six matches in 2009).

Mr Humphreys said with Campbelltown Sports Stadium and Leichhardt Oval undergoing redevelopment works in the off-season, it was only reasonable to reward the various stakeholders and the local communities with the scheduling of an additional game at each venue.

“A significant effort has gone into the upgrades of our great venues and it is a credit to the various parties from Federal Governments, local councils, and the community for making it a reality,’’ Humphreys said.

“Over the past four seasons, Wests Tigers have enjoyed the largest support in the Sydney region and the upgrade of our stadiums will provide members with more modern and comfortable facilities.’’

Mr Humphreys said the decision to play an extra home game each at Campbelltown and Leichhardt would not have been possible without the co-operation of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust.

“We had a pre-existing commitment to the Trust for 2010 and had to re-negotiate those terms,’’ he said.

“We appreciate the assistance of Trust CEO Jamie Barkley and his team to make this important move possible.

“In re-negotiating the agreement, the club has re-enforced its commitment to the SCG Trust. It is very important to the on-going financial health of Wests Tigers to schedule three specific games at the Sydney Football Stadium and one at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

“For the third consecutive year, Wests Tigers will play South Sydney at the Sydney Cricket Ground in what has become one of the true blockbusters on the NRL calendar.

“Playing at major venues like the SFS and SCG is an aspect of our business we clearly need to retain. However we do see the benefits of scheduling more games at our traditional venues. We have listened to our members and feel with the latest change we have achieved the right balance.

“Realistically, moving matches back to the traditional grounds is increasing our commercial risk but we are confident this is the right approach.”

Mr Humphreys said the move to schedule extra matches at the traditional venues was a clear call to arms for fans.

“The ball is now in the hands of our fans to ensure this is a successful move. We urge those fans who are not members to now ‘Step Up’ and become paid Wests Tigers Members,’’ he said.

“A strong membership response will ensure the success of this move and the allocation of grounds remains the same in the future.”

Hi everyone

Great news - Now we need to get the Leichhardt games on a Sunday afternoon - how good would that be!!

Bring on 2010!!

Tigergran

Hope they do make most of them Sundays. We have had our fair share of Monday and Friday night games this season.

I personally think Cambo is suited for Friday night games whilst Leichhardt is suited for Sunday arvo

Give me Tigers v Bulldogs at campbo on a Friday night, then Tigers v Parramatta at Leichhardt on a sunday!

both = sellouts!

I also think Campbelltown is best suited at night gives us out of towners time to drive over. Also we all know that those Westies love watching those low scoring tough games at night. While all Leichhardt games NEED to be in the arvo :righton:

Yeah, I don't mind Campbo on a Friday night … and LOVE Leichhardt on a sunny Sunday arvo ...

Anyone know when a decision gets made what games are going to be at Leichhardt and C'Town as well as the SFS?

I think Ink said he read somewhere it'd be announced next week? But you can most likely guarantee the 4 Campbelltown games will be the 4 last home games of the year as the renovations wont be finished til mid-season.

There is no way theose two games will be at our traditionals for the simple fact that we could 40000 to each game.

Having said that the ball is in the fans court to make sure that our traditional home matches are a sell out, no matter who we play…... like the game against the Cowboys last year.

Completely concur with the whole Leichhardt Sunday Arvo's, Campbelltown Friday nighters!! Both venue's have produced some treasured memories over the past few decades respectively. Leichhardt gives all Rugby League fans that very much needed dose of a little thing called nostalgia. It can only be truly felt on a Sunny Sunday arvo at the Den. As an old Magpie, I have always loved watching footy at the ground. On e the last few ground s that has personality. And Campbelltown, well the old Orana Park has provided its fair share of thrills, many being a Friday night nail biter. The 90's were synonymous for it. Let's get back to what can help benefit our club. This is a huge step in the right direction.

SFS/SCG Games
Souths
Dogs
Eels
Sea Eagles

Leichhardt Games
Roosters
Warriors
Titans
Cowboys

Cambeltown Games
Raiders
Sharks
Panthers
Storm

I reckon we'll see something like that. The teams with more supporters will play us at the SFS, while the out of towners/teams with no fans, will play at the traditional grounds.

Geez though, we got a pretty rough draw for crowds, no Broncos, Dragons or Knights home games, all 3 have big supporter bases.

Totally agree Gobbs Cambo for friday nights in the 90's were amazing remember beating brisbane and a draw against st george where they had to let people over the fence and onto the field to watch as there were that many.Leicchardt is best served on a sunday afternoon.Perhaps the club can put in a request cambo on a friday night to christen the new grandstand would be ideal. :righton: :righton: :righton:

If they can put all the LO games on a Sunday arvo I won't miss one, Cambo on a friday is worth taking a sickie to be there if I'm on evening shift..
