Ok, do we have the money to buy the 3 players Lima -Lote - Cayless??
If so imagine this team, fit, skilled and playing well.

4\. Chris Lawrence - we all know what he can do
5\. Tame Tupou - Was a good player -barring injury - 110kg
6\. Benji Marshall- Brillant when on fire
7\. Tim Moltzen- Very capable half
8\. Nathan Cayless - Big - Hard and no nonsense - 107kg
9\. Robbie Farah - Awesome
10\. Jeff Lima - 110kg - Won GF's as prop = enough said
11\. Chris Heighington - Great workhorse
12\. Keith Galloway - Big boy and getting better -108kg
13\. Gareth Ellis - Buy of the year - tough - skilled and will get better

14\. Arana Taumata - Fast and dangerous - attack boy attack
15\. Todd Payton - Safe player
16\. Bryce Gibbs - some time good and others stupid - has the skills
17\. Robert Lui -will be close to 98kg next season -reserve half - centre - lock or hooker
 
Why would u put Galloway in the 2nd row - he was our most damaging prop when fit - i would rate him above Cayless as a starting prop - that woul allow Cayless to drop back to the bench with Gibbs and Payten - all speculation anyway.

yeah i agree if we had more size on the bench it would be a handy position for galloway. we would get a massive role on in our first 3 hit ups. but id have to say lima and galloway up front. heigno ellis and payton. bench cayless and gibbs. fingers crossed 2nd row play can play 80mins and rotate lima, galloway, payton, gibbs and cayless. with options of tuiaki and tupou taking hit ups for the forwards.
 
first off, lets get the players to the club.
then see who has the best off season training, for the spots in the forwards.
healthy competition amongst the forwards, for first grade spots, can only benefit the club.
plus you have the up and coming juniors who will also want to have a shot at first grade, who can slot in when the in-evitable injuries occur.
 
Good question . if Moltzen bulked up and toughened up , i think he would suit the role.. like a Craig WING type of player ..
 
Jeff Lima will put some thrust into the fordward pack,he and Galloway should be a force.Lote at fullback may be better used in the backline as center….anyway looking towards 2010 for a top 8 and finals.......Cheers

id still prefer him at a starting role though..he is lethal as an 80min player, not only as an impact player..id rather see arana get the craig wing role :stuck_out_tongue:

Great post HT…..can the Bookies put out the" Making the 8" market now, as anything over $3, the whole forum should go all out on the Tigers, if all above is available for Sheens to work with.....and the Burnout King hasn't even been mention as a backup for Robbie :wink:.............it looks like the Year of the Metal Tiger 😛ray:
 
mine would be as follows if we make those signings:

1\. Tuqiri- although not a natural fullback, should fit that position well

2\. Tuiaki- obvious choice, big, strong, powerful. would've been the nrl's top try scorer if he didn't get injured

3\. Ayshford- will show his full potential in his second season

4- Lawrence- actually eligible for 20's last year, so quick, dynamic in defence, a future origin player

5- Ryan- a couple of months ago i was calling for his sacking for tupou, however ryan has the upper hand for that spot at the moment. but a couple more bad games, i might be making the call again.

6- Marshall- I think his 2005 form will be replicated, showed better form towards the end of the season.

7- Moltzen- don't bother wasting money on another half-back, this guy has all the attributes to match some of the better halfbacks in the game.

8.- Galloway- A pity, we didn't see more of him this year. a big, aggressive prop, likely to break rep footy next year. the only reason he was a little passive in the seasons prior, was because he was a little nervous after that dog hopoate king hit him.

9- Farah- captain courageous, will be an integral part of what we do next year plus being our captain.

10- Lima- Played with us originally i think? a big hombreigh who is a starter for the storm. would definitely be in our starting line up

11- Ellis- A terrific player who will know his playing environment better after this season. Will be even better next year.

12- Heighington- an alright player, needs to work on his hit ups a bit, however he's a workhorse who suits an 80 minute environment.

13- Cayless- played in a couple of roosters grand final teams, an experienced player who represented his country on many occasions. better than his bro that's for sure

14-Tupou- A big man, who is good enough to play first grade, could even take Ryan's spot

15-Gibbs- Good when he wants to be, however a silly player when he wants to be. Sheens or someone needs to tell him not to risk giving away penalties at crucial times. I have to take my hat off to him in defence

16-Payten- Reliable, Tough and skilful, i really rate this bloke

17- Taumata- A talent, i say give him a shout in first grade
