Gibbs????

Named then Suspended....Smart move Sheens

Guess Fitzy's wing days are over....glad he hasn't lost any pace...

That is one of the dumber rules in the NRL. No way should trial games count for suspensions…

it has to, as you can get suspended for nrl games by committing an illegal act in trials

Interesting side. A couple of players who I thought would get a run are Fulton and Gower but maybe Sheens sees them as part of the top 17 instead, along with Lui also. Looks to be quite a mobile side too, hopefully no serious injuries suffer and I really hope Lazarus comes through unscathed. Taumata and Moors on the bench…Reckon we'll see them against the Roosters too.

hopefully sheens pairs marshall with moltz and lui in the other trials and then picks the 7 based and form and combination.

I disagree. If you get suspended you should miss competetive games not trials.

What about if Wests Tigers played a trial against a non NRL team? Would that count aswell?

If one of our main playing is suspended for 5 weeks then they could just have 5 trials but use the reserve graders and juniors and name the guy suspened.

Hopefully. Looks like he'll go that way but with Lui not being named in the next 20's trial, I reckon he's got the inside running for the 7 spot.

Foundation Cup against the Rorters Poppa….Feb 21....

Looking at the side again ...No Dwyer

Lui and Dwyer will be in the first grade side.

Sheens has praised both players too highly not to give them first shot at the team.

Both players are very exciting prospects and I look forward to watching their progress with some responsibility on their shoulders.

Benji likes Lui & Taumata inthe halves …he likes Moltzen in #1, said he is a very good fullback.

he is a good fullback, but hes a better half back then lui or taumata. that is obvious

How is that obvious when you havnt even seen Arana play yet..

It wouldn't suprise me if Lui or Dwyer turn out for one of the State Cup sides this weekend.

Magpies are taking on the Raiders and Tigers taking on Wentworthville. A bit of a hit out away from the spotlight and against superior opposition

@ benjibrotown, i have see arana play, and hes hot or cold, no where near consistant enough to partner benji, imo arana and lui are too much like benji to be his halves partner. not to mention arans has been playing park footy for the best part of the last 18 months

What's the point having this so called first grade trial when we are basically just using our Reserve Graders and Under 20's players. Our Toyota Cup team and NSW Cup teams are having trails anyway so why not just let them play in those teams? Seems a waste of time to fly them up to Mackay. The only good thing about it I suppose is if we have players like Gibbs who are suspended so it's uses up their suspension.

Or Aaron Woods for that matter. He's not listed for the next Toyota Cup trial and isn't listed as being injured either.

The number of Non superstars that have been left out in this thread is further testiment to the depth that we seem to have at our club.

This is very encouraging.

I hope you're praying as I am that this year, It all comes together…

How many days left.....

The squad named really suggests that next season will kick off with Moltzen at #1 and Lui at #7… but as suggested by smeg.... Lui could be turning it out for Balmain....

Interesting that Arana is not getting a starting spot - but I suppose there is no real point reading much into it.

Taumata not starting in the halves is a surprise
Attiude problem perhaps??

Length of time out of the NRL possibly…Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a run against the Roosters or Sharks though.

The coaching staff already know what Arana can do anyways. Lazerus and Florimo are rookies with no first grade experience. It may also have a bearing on the decision to start the pair. Being a trial anyways i'd be surprised if the 3 of them didn't average out the same amount of mins during the game.
